Alright, disclaimer, I am not a super experienced audiophile, nor should I claim to be one, but these headphones are great......on a tube. Once you go solid state....imo...not so much. Then again I don't care for perfectly flat sound. They are built great and are very clear, but I can see why they are for professional monitoring. I returned them. If I spent more time with my tube amp, I may have kept them...

Z: Do you have a set of Senn 630VB for an A/B comparison to these Neumanns? That would be interesting. I like my 640VBs very much. Great combo of build, comfort, efficiency, detail and slam in a closed back. If the Neumanns are better in any significant way, I'd like to know that.

*HEADDESK And I just got my Ethers

I bought these after seeing the description change on the recent MrSpeakers review for the massdrop edition closed ethers. So much video, audio, and text spent on the mass drop ethers. so many pleasant things to say about them and literally all of that balanced with “Or... ” at the end of the text description on youtube, behind the read more button and about 8 blank lines. I bought them instantly, upgrading from a set of alpha primes, and its like hearing a good set of headphones after only using apple v1 earbuds again for the very first time. Literally an experience I thought I would never have again with any headphones. I was thinking of buying another set to resell once the stock evaporates but I think ill get the monoprice thx dac/amp instead.

Anyone looking for these headphones and can't find them ebay or amazon (I live in Australia) should look up music stores as they are very much aimed for the muso crowd for monitoring !
