Speedwagon was a man of his word, he had always kept his promises except for a single one. Before entrusting him with her ranch and sailing back to England, Erina Joestar had begged him to get rid of the gun that used to belong to her son and her husband before him. "It's cursed; it killed them both, it won't kill my grandson too," she had told him, before boarding a ship in New York back to the humid island that she believed would keep what was left of her family safe. Speedwagon had promised and he had kept all of his promises except for that single one.

He didn't believe that gun was cursed, didn't believe the Joestar were cursed either, but even if it was, even if they were, Joseph deserved the chance to create his own fate.

The old six shooter was rightfully his. As he handed it to him, Speedwagon prayed Erina would find it in her to forgive him.
