Over the last week I have started using something that has changed. my. life.
So the last few weeks I have been sleeping like absolute SHIT. Like so fucking crook. I think I’m over stimulated (hehe) during the day and doing lots of different things so when it comes to bed time I’m completely exhausted and I fall asleep easily, but I toss and turn and wake up easily and it’s an absolute punish.
You know when you have that nights’ sleep where you’re just so fucked that you need to have a good nights’ sleep and then you wake up groggy and yuck? Like you were at a really deep part of your sleep when your alarm went off?! That kept happening to me for weeks on end.
Now, even though this blog title suggests I’m a Doctor, I am not. I am not a doctor. So please proceed with caution. ALSO! I am not on a kickback for this. This is a genuine recommendation for something that has been helping me that I found online.
So! I did some research about sleep tracking apps! At first I set up the Apple sleep thing that’s inside the alarm? But that was shit? I realised what I needed was something where I could set up, like, a window of wake up time and actually wake me up at the best point of my cycle? You know?!
I ended up hitting the jackpot, and found this AMAZING app that does it all!
SLEEP CYCLE! OH MY GOD.
It’s free - it’s so great. I mean, I think it has a subscription option but the free version is just perfecto. AND it has an apple watch companion app so it can not only track your sleep but also, it wakes you up by silently tapping and vibrating on your wrist at the best wakeup time in your cycle instead of being some loud annoying noise. Which as someone super sensitive to noise and sound, is a fucking amazing option! And it makes me feel so much better and wakes you up SO much gentler than the assault on your senses that a loud alarm is.
I think there are probably other options out there, but please - SLEEP WELL!
