The Stories of Sodor: Inconvenience

The engines are forced to contend with the infamous Steam Ban, as well as another kind of inconvenience.

Probably because that's not who was in the trailer.

0:32 Why is no one talking about the appearance of Rowan the Garratt Engine in the intro? Id wager he is the banking engine...

The steam ban plot reminded me of Livio Dante Porta. He presented a paper of his modern steam research to a panel in Manchester in 1969. Maybe Rob Hall attended and decided to apply Porta’s techniques to some of the engines? I can see Douglas, James, and Henry being candidates.

Hey Victor! Do you mind telling me the base game you use for TSOS? please and thank you.

LeBron James’s BJ

Oh! I think that’s a good theory!

Thomas Dignan

I agree. That 0-8-0 in Nationalization was named Charles.

Andrew G.

My theory: The ghost banker is Geoffrey. he died on the Maron side of Gordon's hill, so it would make sense.

Thomas Degroot

0:57 WHAT?! ToT, you absolute legend!

Kyle Clark

Maybe Thomas got really yoked in the afterlife lol

Francis is slowly growing on me. He's a great foil.

I assume that the banker wasn't the Big Bertha engine. That banker engine for the lickey incline was scrapped in 1956 and was replaced by a BR Standard 9F. The banker was probably an 0-8-0 tender engine of an LMS design, it sort of looks like the one seen in the trailer and that 0-8-0 tender engine character from the TSOS Nationalization episode.

Welcome back, mate. We missed you.

I agree with what you said and glad your suggestion was chosen, I’m jealous. I’ve given suggestions and while few were made, recents ideas have not. Still, considering the month we’re in maybe it’s a supernatural occurrence? Let’s think: who do we know would be a banker and sadly passed away and or gone. Thomas? Benson? Place your bets! Place your bets!

DivineDrawings96

Great story. But damn, I was really hoping to find out the identity of the mysterious banker.

Eli Rosen

either that or murdoch, id have to say the ghost engine is a tender engine tho

Qusai Galbi

Amazing work as always, Victor. Can't wait to see what else this season has in store for us

DJ0401 K

Pretty good, beginning to Season 7, I can’t wait to see who the banker is

Mario sonic 64

A perfect balance of montages and dialogue.

The Lone Egg Boss

Wonder who might be that banker

Thanapat Sureechainirun

I wonder if the banker is a ghost engine

Before I tell my thoughts here, I want to simply say: Thank you. Thank you very much for using one of my ideas I’ve sent to you, being about the Steam Ban and how it wouldn’t have been a point for it for the sentient, non-faceless vehicles. Seeing my name being credited on here, makes me feel so happy; I’m glad to help contribute to a Stories of Sodor episode after being a fan of this series for 8 years now, jeez. So Inconvenience. Not being biased, I found it to be a decent episode, a good start to the season. I enjoy the visuals here in this episode, especially in the montages of Reginald and Patrick pulling their trains. The best part is how you've hidden the mysterious banker via a hill. I was hoping I could try and spot them if possible, but nope you've managed to hide them well. The music choices were nice, the song choice for Reginald's montage is so perfect for him as a theme and the added ambience in some of the scenes helps with the immersion of Sodor as a whole. I do also like that the episode's pacing here is slower than previous seasons, it's so much better honestly. 16 minutes felt longer and considering people have been requesting you to make the episodes longer, it's a good thing. The episode itself was interesting, I do enjoy how you tackled the subject of the inconvenience of how the steam ban was for the Sodor engines. It was interesting to see Gordon shunting a train with Emily so he had something to do other than staying in the sheds. Glad he, James and Henry weren't in trouble for that. The brake tenders were also interesting, I do like how it played into Patrick's story with him technically going over the red light. Speaking of Patrick, I enjoyed his character here as well as the voice you've given him. It's a great voice for him, it suits him and I enjoyed seeing the rivalry between both Patrick and Francis. As with the mysterious banker, I know last week in the comments of the trailer, I said “what's supposed to be a mysterious banker, you've shown their basis with their number, right there in the trailer.” and “it would've been better if they weren't shown at all.”, Now thinking about it and looking back at Season 4 and the whole thing of The Nartwin. I’m now thinking that the engine shown in the trailer must be a red herring and not the actual mysterious banker we’re thinking of. Nonetheless, I do like the start of the mystery of who it can be. We already know that it's a big steam engine, so it can’t be the secret return of Thomas heh. But seriously, I do hope we get to see him soon. I am very much looking forward to seeing more clues about the mysterious banker engine throughout the series until the episode 'Banker'. Overall, I like this episode! A good start to Season 7!
