Preview... Saturday Girl

Hello Friends

So today we have the first part of a series which will run over the coming weeks.

Usually I don't give anything away, but as this series is set in stone and will run for 5 weeks to begin with, I think it only far to give to the title and that, as you can see , is Saturday girl.

It's also a little series using new techniques which I hope you will like, because it creates a more detailed and realistic world without losing the beauty of Andy and Aunt Jane.

I hope you like this and it tickles your imaginations, I know Andy is not his usual feminised perfection in this, but I think the idea that Janes beloved nephew is still very much there is a bit of a treat.

Thank you for being there,

XXX

Let's have another try. This one starts: “Andrew! Andrew!” What now? He was busy. He sat on a chair in the kitchen and finished pulling on his trainers. “The postman’s coming up the path. Open the door, darling, he should have a parcel for me.” “OK, Auntie,” he called and ran to the front door, opening it just as the doorbell rang. “Oh, hello.” “Hello, Master Andrew. Haven’t seen you here in a while. Guess your Lady Fullerton-Jones is here for a while given the mail re-direct.” “Yeah, well, Auntie thought it better if we were in town rather than at the Hall. I’m staying with her over the summer. My parents are off on a cruise, and then breaking the voyage for a few weeks to stay with relatives.” “Lucky them. Football today or just a kickabout?” asked the postie observing his soccer strip. “Saturday football. A practice, not a match. There’s no games over the summer, but coach wants us to stay fit and be ready for next season.” “Quite right too.” The postman peeled off some letters wrapped in a rubber band and pulled a small parcel from his sack. I’ve got a few things here for your Aunt. Let me see: Fullerton-Jones… This one needs to be signed for. Can you do the honours?” “Sure.” The postman peered at a hand-held terminal for a few seconds, pressed some keys, then thrust it towards Andy. “I can never do this,” he said as he drew a shaky ‘A Watson’ with his finger on the small screen. “Don’t worry, no-one can,” laughed the postman, handing the letters and parcel to Andy. “Enjoy your practice Give my regards to your Aunt.” “Thanks. Will do,” said Andy. As he closed the front door, he found his Aunt behind him in the hall. “Leave the parcel on the stairs, Andrew, and I’ll go through the post in the kitchen before I take you to practice.” -------- That may work better. And, never fear, it's being continued. S xxxx

Thank you. I'll wait to see a bit more before I 'tinker'. But I can feel a rewrite/edit coming on. S xxx

That is s wonderful prologue to what I had in mind S, It fits snuggly in some places, but not in a few, only a few and it would only need a tinker to get it to fit perfectly, rather like Aunties outfit. As ever your writing is superb and I do so greatly appreciate your skills Big hugs my dear friend xxx

Hi Dr. Thank you so much, I greatly appreciate your overview of my "Career" and yes it has come a long way. I felt a little guilty to change a style that people love, but I hope the emotion and characters are clearly the same , just better. I never thought I would be able to get Ai to create what I wanted and it still can't. I think it can suggest ideas and create a basis, but even in this piece it is still a blend of Ai and my own art developed with a computer linked drawing board and pen. I find the backgrounds Ai create are now invaluable, not just in quality but in that it speeds up my creative process allowing me to create the characters, story and blend them into one image. I have always loved to learn new techniques and embracing technology, but would never want to stop the hands on touch with the light pen. Thank you again my dear friend xxx

Hi Lee, do you really think Aunt Jane will be letting Andy work in the loading bay? Whatever contacts she has will, I have no doubt, place him in the middle of the most beautiful ladies. I mean what is he going to learn toting boxes? Now working with the mannequins, that is a different prospect. It is wonderful to be back my friend XX

Hello Alexis, thank you and more will follow soon, I am so happy you like this beginning XXX

Thank yoy so much Aidan, I am so glad you like this style, you are very kind XX

There's an extra nice sharpness to the art. Love a mini-series, especially with our Andy and Aunt Jane xxx

Aidan

Can't wait to see what happens to poor Andy at the hands of his Auntie Jane as I don't see him in his Football Kit for too long

An early postal delivery? Andy looks sharp and clean in his uniform before practice. As does lady Jane, but she always does. Andy may have to start in the back room. Unloading trucks and checking inventory. If he is needed out on the floor he has to get a feel for the items for sale . . . and not just dressing mannequins after hours. Welcome back.

Lee

I won’t even try to guess where this story is going, but I can’t wait to get there! Such a wonderful image to start us (and Andy) on a new journey. Speaking for myself I always like seeing Andy in his sports gear. I love the contrast with how he looks here compared with how he will look in his final perfect blossoming. And you do such a wonderful job capturing his innate preciousness, despite outward appearances. Clothes do not maketh the man (or sissy) 😉

Very well done. I find your illustration journey very interesting. Starting with photo manips, then analogue drawing, then paintshop assisted, then computer illustrations, to now a stylish combination of near A.I. & computer rendering. This reminds me of the advancement of computer animation styles. Think of Pixar and their ultra detailed but yet still animation treatments like Sully's fur in Monster's Inc. The exquisite detail in the backrounds like wind moving trees & grass, etc. This latest piece indeed captures the essence of Andy & Jane yet portrays them in a more vivid format. Kudos. I especially like how the fabric of Janes outfit look so much more rich and lustrous. The sheen of her blouse evokes a sense of perhaps satin whilst the reflective brilliance of her skirt imparts either a rubber reflectiveness or highly polished top grade leather. Again, great job and I, as all of us do, look forward to your next installment. :)

Andy looked at the results sheet again, not quite able to believe his eyes. An A Star, a B, and a C. Better than he'd hoped in some ways, disappointing in others. Better than his teachers' predictions but still not what he'd hoped for. Good enough, though. Jane read the offer letter that had come separately. "You've got a place, darling! At the college. The place you always wanted." "Yes, Auntie," agreed a slightly crestfallen Andy. "And you got an A Star; an A Star in graphic design. You've done so well." "Yes, Auntie. But I only got a B in English, and a C in French." "I shouldn't worry about that sweetie. You've got in and that's all that matters." "Can I just look at the offer letter again, please?" asked Andy. They swapped their pieces of paper. "But it's a conditional offer, Auntie. The letter says: 'For Candidates to take up their offer, they need to have confirmed position in Retail to acquire work experience alongside the course.' Where can I get that? I don't remember that on the application form. I won't be able to go if I haven't got a job." "A part-time job, honey. It can't be a full-time job, not if you're going to be studying." "Even a part-time job. I haven't got a job and I haven't worked in Retail. I thought the point of the college course was to help me get a job in Retail," said Andy in tones of desperation. "Stay calm, honey. I'm sure there'll be opportunities. Why, I'm sure I saw a notice in the window of that new shop opening along The Lanes asking for shop assistants." "Which shop was that, Auntie?" "Oh, you know. That new fashion shop. The one with the shiny mannequins on display." "You mean the one with the latex dresses. I can't work there." "Why ever not? It'd be a job, and you need a job, a Saturday job. Let's go along later this morning after football practice and check the advert again. And if you need to brush up your French at some time, you can always stay next summer with some friends I have in France. I'm sure a nice stay in France would do you good. I could come and visit." ................................................ Undoubtedly not what you envisaged, but hope that this might amuse. Love Jane's new look. And an 18 year old Andy looks ready to embark on life's adventure. S xxx
