I’ve restructured my life this year because I don’t feel like I’m centered in heart and service. It’s all about mind and me. Starting and ending my day on Twitter (as much as I love/hate that place) isn’t healthy. So I’m implementing a new system and basing it off a practice I learned at an ashram I lived on for a while. It’s called “the golden silence” and basically you don’t speak from after dinner to after breakfast. Now that’s ridiculous but I am going to start putting my phone in another room at 10pm and not looking at it until after I meditate.
The phone robs me of presence with people in my life, it robs me of reading books, most importantly, it robs me of my serenity. Stealing minutes, hours, here and there, that I will never get back.
So hold me to it, Patrons! If you see me going off on a late night/early morning tweetstorm just tweet or DM or email me “golden silence” and I’ll know.
