It's Rasta Otter Time!

Hey patrons! Over on the pledge page I mentioned how your contributions go toward helping fund side projects and one-off specials here on Gatorbox, and here's one such example.

Back in 2015 we began working on a "game repaint" project where we'd be taking a PC game and completely messing it around. New graphics, sounds, music, in-game text, the works. We ended up anagramming ("SHUSH OR HUSH") lots of the existing titles and text and the phrase "RASTA OTTER .ORG" was birthed from "READY SET GO!".

It was going to be the game's "big secret" joke that was staring you in the face the whole time, because I registered rastaotter.org and had set up a goofy website and put together this whole silly thing. Unfortunately, the repainting project fell through and was a failure, but we still had this domain and this "rasta otter" character created...

So, three years later, I've decided to just put the site out there anyways and complete the gimmick. I paid for the domain, got a cheap otter toy from a McDonald's Happy Meal, and had a special Rastafarian beanie made for him to make Rasta Otter a physical part of the Gatorbox show. This video is sort of like an "unboxing" and a history lesson at the same time and goes into further detail regarding his failed project.

But I didn't stop there! Rasta Otter is also now an official channel emote, accessible in the Gatorbox Discord as :rastaotter: and in our Twitch chat as GBrasta (with the FrankerFaceZ browser plugin).

At some point in the future when I feel like Gatorbox is ready to have proper merchandise I'm also planning on making the emote into a sticker! But for now, please enjoy a silly joke that you guys directly helped bring to life.
