Happy June!!

Hey everyone,

As always, patreon still hasn't finished billing (still at 30%), so I'll be posting log in info and stuff tomorrow.  I just wanted to check in with you all and let you know what is going on.

A few fun things, this is my BIRTHDAY month!! Yayyy! (minus the getting old part). If you would like to do something for me, donate a dollar or two to the Hotel for Dogs and Cats. I volunteered there for over 5 years while living in Florida, and they are completely run on donations.  The woman who created that animal rescue is truly a saint. http://www.h4dc.org/
If you feel like spoiling me extra hard too, I do have a wishlist in my about me info ;)

The other thing... this morning I was recognized! So this almost never happens, but occasionally a fan will spot me in public. Usually this results in a "were you at the airport at 3:30pm in Chicago?" sort of email hours later, but about once a year someone will come up to talk to me. Today was awesome. A patron came up to me at an estate sale and asked "are you Carlotta Champagne?" and I said yes, and we chatted about art and animation and things of that nature. I was alone, which can sometimes be daunting in these situations, but fortunately I felt totally safe.

I figure maybe this is a good time to give the rundown on if you "happen to run into a pinup/glam/art model in public." Here's the down low... most of us are friendly, but if we happen to be with someone, always consider that they might not know what we do for a living. Many of my model-peers have parents and siblings who are not aware of their career. If you come up and ask "are you Carlotta?" I will normally say yes. If I'm with my grandmother, I'm gonna look at you with a gleam of panic that says "please go away before she asks me more."
I have had a few weird situations where I was frightened or felt threatened.. Someone followed me up an elevator at my hotel, and I didn't immediately know they knew who I was, but when I stepped off, he held the door and watched me walking away and then said "goodnight Carlotta." This is what we call "hella creepy." Try to consider what feels stalker-ish to a woman, lol.                                                                        Anyway, going back to this morning, when the patrons asked me if I was Carlotta, one of the workers immediately asked what I did for a living-wanting to know if she had some celebrity buying her weird voodoo dolls. Little did she know, lol. Anyway, that just goes back to environment, consider who is listening because it can create a pretty awkward rapid fire google search and definitely awkward looks.

Okay, I think that's it for my rambling for the moment. I'll bug y'all tomorrow!

xoxo

~~ Hi Carlotta and a warm wishes for a wonderful birthday !! Your note about 'meeting accidentally' recalled a time when I ended up in an elevator with PLAYMATE Pamela Anderson and her 'agent'... I'm sure I said nothing at all brilliant and mostly stared at her incredibly long bare legs.. I guess we men are all just little boys when we meet a gorgeous woman.. D...69

well said. some of it should be blindingly obvious but apparently needs to be said regardless, while the rest could be lost in moments of excitement but saying aloud has the potential to help someone be a bit more empathetic & respectful in that moment of excitement. HBDCC!
