EARLY ACCESS: POLAND PART 3

And here we go. What World War 2 can teach us about World War 3. We visit where the war began, take a trip around Gdansk, and head to the Polish border with Russia...

This took a lot of wrestling to get into shape, but... I'm so proud of where it has ended up. The work that went into it was insane, frankly, from the visuals, to the music, to the travel itself. And then the editing - it went through two other iterations - and a lot of discussion - before I got to this final version.

Yes, it's different from where we've been in the past, it's a long way from Easter Egg taste tests or getting my hair caught in a Cabbage Patch Doll's gob... but you've got a very chaotic Polski Sklep Corner up next as the cooldown.

Which might just be a Patreon-only thing, or it might go on the second channel. We don't know yet. Either way, you'll get to see it, and we've a couple of other Patreon-exclusive things edited and ready to upload later this week.

GUILTY AS CHARGED!

I do feel guilty every time I upload a video that's not like the ones we used to do - both Sanja and I are very aware that the majority of you signed up to Patreon for something entirely different - and it has been a hard journey to shut that out and be true to ourselves.

It's tough pivoting a channel, but the increase in views and subscriber count speak for themselves.

It's demoralising working on things that hardly anyone watches, and the channel was just scraping along before. I mean, the final ep of Digi Level 2 is one of the funniest things I've ever done, and less than 5,000 people have watched it. Yes, I enjoyed making it, and I'm proud of it, but those numbers are just depressing, given the amount of work it took. Please don't tell me if you prefer the old stuff. I know! And hearing it just gets us down.

These new vids are - in all honesty - more truthful and authentic. I guess it's a reflection of the last couple of years, where it became harder for me to do the all-out-silliness we'd been doing before, and - honestly - this is what I spend my spare time doing. I read a lot, and these days it tends to be about history or the world, rather than what my interests might've been in the past. I used to subscribe to Retro Gamer and Viz. These days it's History magazine and Fortean Times. That probably says it all.

That said... I'm hopeful the next trip we do will be more on the lighter side. I don't want them all to be as heavy as this. And we've still got more nonsense on the way this year; Drong's Challenge is as mad as anything I've ever done; characters, animations, games - the works.

So... if you're still here this month... thank you for supporting us. It really, really means a lot to us both. If you're able to give a like and a comment this week on YouTube, that'd really help this video get pushed out. Looking forward to hearing what you think of it.

Thank you, Mark. It's nuts that you're still here - but we love that you are appreciating the change in direction.

I signed up of BYAMPOD and, although I never considered unsubscribing, I just didn’t “get” Digi and didn’t watch it. This new direction has pulled me in and I find the Poland videos fascinating (and I haven’t watched them all yet). So, from my perspective, this is the right move.
