NEW DESK WHO DIS?

Hello, Patrons! Happy... Wednesday? How d'you like the new desk?

Fingers crossed, you should get the new video tomorrow. I think it's rather lovely. By design, it's shorter than some of the recent ones (because they can't all be whoppers), but the subject we'd chosen - the plague village of Eyam - took a left turn when I started researching it.

There are tons of videos about Eyam online, but they all parrot the same 'official' version of events. Ours is a bit different, and suffice to say, there's more to the story than meets the eye - and it has plenty to say about the modern day.

Expect the usual shenanigans too, of course. And some outtakes!

There won't be a premiere this weekend, because we're just going to save those for certain videos, but it'll be up for regular types around Sunday lunchtime.

Like a pair of idiots, we got stupidly dehydrated while filming. We were in a bad way on Tuesday, and I managed to trigger a migraine - which is what usually happens if I don't drink enough water. Lesson learned.

I also booked us into a very cheap hotel which - as we found out when we arrived - had a shared bathroom. Another lesson learned. At least it was clean, even though Sanja swore she could smell dog poo.

We've finally started work on putting the next ep of Digi Level 2 together. Sanja's doing an assembly edit, and then I'll go in and put my bells and whizzers on there. We're on a deadline now to film the final bits, because my mum's house is finally on the market and we need to film there before it's sold (also, all our Digi Level 2 scenery is in the garage... if any of you want the bunker door - make me an offer! Collection only... And that's only a half-joke).

I had talked about doing a live stream for my birthday this weekend, but in all honesty... having lost three days this week to filming, family, and - now - editing, I need to catch up on day job stuff. My sister's also away, so I'm on mother-visiting duties for the next three days, which means I'll have no time to prepare anything alas.

Plus, if I'm honest, I'm feeling a bit crap, due to life stuff. It's one thing to make a vid, another to perform on a live stream. Won't rule out doing one the weekend after. We'll see.

I had a lovely couple of days away seeing the kids and grandkids though, and Digi filming continues to offer an escape - even if we do then come back to the universe throwing bricks at our head.

The drive up north gave us time to plan out the next couple of videos, and we talked about the aforementioned plan for doing upper tiers Patreon-only videos in the old desk style (please don't reply saying you miss the blue wall stuff; we're well aware! Just gets us down to read it, in all honesty...). Hopefully they'll start happening in August, dependent on life's many fragrant and delightful challenges.

Just to reiterate though, you've still got 8 eps of Digi Level 2 madness coming your way, and between the final two eps and Drong's Challenge you've got a ton of desk stuff, a ton of characters, a ton of Gannon and other guests, and a healthy sprinkling of Found Footage. They're designed to be a sort of greatest hits in a lot of ways.

So, lots to look forward to, and thank you for being here for another month. We appreciate you hanging in there, and sooner or later we'll get back to BYAMPOD and everything else we wanted to get done.
