EXCLUSIVE: DELETED SCENE - AND A QUICK EXPLANATION

Morning, you lot. If you're wondering where BYAMPOD is... we didn't get a chance to record it, so it'll be with you a bit late. Most likely Monday, when we'll also have a bonus ep for you to make up for it being late. And the overdue Writer's Club. I've got something specific in mind for that.

We will also be doing the Patreon-only Q&A, and Biffo's Brain on Thursday Night, hopefully.

We ran out of time to get everything done this week, basically. Tough week, for a variety of reasons, but looking after my mum is proving to be more challenging and time consuming than we'd anticipated. We're still adjusting to the new reality, and figuring out how to make it all work.

I think also this was the week that we - Sanja, my sister, and I - crashed into a bit of a brick wall in terms of the past howevermanymonths catching up with us. We're exhausted, basically. We also got my dad's ashes back, which was kind of unexpectedly upsetting.

So, thank you for bearing with us, as always. Bloody 2022, eh?

Far be it for me to inflict the emotional bends upon you all... but here's some nonsense. It's just a couple of minutes - a little deleted scene from the Halloween special, that Sanja and I filmed while we were waiting for Paul and Eli. It didn't fit with the tone of the episode as a whole, so it didn't make it in, but it's a nice little moment.

Comments

Dad is still in a box * on a stand in mum’s living room. Every now and then he gets a dust and I had to comment once that it felt like he’d lost weight recently. We howled with laughter. Some times are easier than others. *his ashes I hasten to add. 😅

When my Nan died we got her ashes back and there was a period between getting them back and the "getting everyone together and doing something with them" that really freaked me out. They also came in a very industrial tub, not an urn which didn't feel right. It was basicallyone of those big sweet jars but opaque. We had them in the living room, but it really upset me so I hid them behind the curtain haha. We scattered some, some went under a rosebush, and some went in small urns for the family that wanted them. I have some in an urn but I still can't bear to have them in my house, so my sister looks after them for me. Personally I find it difficult to have the fond memories you want of a departed loved one in their presence. My Nan would have told us to chuck them in a skip I think 😄

Take care. Totally understand what you’re going though. It’s really tough 😓. Big hugs. X. Edit: must really prof red my p posts before sending - your instead of you’re 🧐😳🙄

I used to tell my friends that when I die they should have my skull made into a bong so they can all take a hit off it. I don't smoke weed, but they all do and they'd be the active participants (I won't be doing much of anything those days) so it seemed appropriate. One of them consistently misremembers this as me saying they should smoke my ashes IN the bong, and I haven't seen fit to correct him

Sedric And Charlie

When my sister was doing her medical training she was issued with a wooden box that contained a partial human skeleton, and despite my constant requests she refused to let me boil it up to try and make stock.

Treacle Truffle

Hahahahaaaaaaaaa! It's a Digi video waiting to happen!

This might be deeply disrespectful, but did you know that human ashes taste kinda spicy? Like strong black pepper. I'm not saying you SHOULD eat a tiny bit of your dad, but I'm not saying you SHOULDN'T.
