This week is a bit of a mixed bag... we discuss everything from next year's Marillion Weekends, to Fish's Funny Farm Kitchen Garden project. Then we delve back into the postbag for some more letters, discussing the Marillion albums we found most immediate, some additional thoughts on An Hour Before It's Dark - and we dig down into one of Ocean Cloud's most iconic lines...

Oh god, the arguments about a team Having to have me...I'd forgotten about that! Interesting but perhaps not surprising that a Digi/Marillion lot were all That Kid at school.

2022-06-27 22:12:54 +0000 UTCBlowdart is weird, you mean like Indiana jones? I did get a regular dart thrown into my thigh right up to the weighted bit. But wasn't bullying per say we where taking it in turns to throw them at each other playing flinch chicken and I guess I won. The PE stories I can relate to, summer birthday meant most of the year where always bigger than me for all but our last year. Being small, quiet and weird didn't feel like I was able to slip under anybodies radar. Remember the trice weekly burning humiliation of having even the remedial kids picked before me, I think there were even arguments about which team HAD to have me.

I do TikTok about children's rights and hear a Lot from young people who are still abused by teachers - 30k followers, primarily 13-17 year olds, who all relate to me talking about abuse in schools. The reality of what happens in schools is very different to what the rules and regulations say, unfortunately. I get teachers commenting and telling me XYZ thing doesn't happen any more and then 50 kids replying to the comment telling them it does still happen. and omg, I had a blowdart thrown at me too! Truly times change but people stay the same in the worst possible way.
