EARLY ACCESS: BYAMPOD Ep 84 - Marillion's Most-Played!

We've got you next week's ep early!

We've finally reached the end of our setlist statistics trawl, with a look at Marillion's most-played live songs. Where does Neverland come in the ranking? What's the song Marillion have played live more than any other - and is it Fish-era or h-era? And why do we go off at a tangent about prank phone calls??

I Was in Lisbon in 2019 but the sound in Aula Magna is not good. I read some criticism this year on the same issue. On the other hand, the concert on HITR tour in Barcelona back in 2009 is one of their best in my presence.

We watched the new DVD at the weekend, which has all of Disc 1 of HITR on there, and it really is an underrated gem of an album.

Totally agree with Paul about The Only Unforgivable Thing or songs from HITR being played too little. By the way, looking forward to tha analysis of this album which for me represents a jump in their compositions, entering in a world of modern progressive music.

Word!

It's an interesting discussion. The band seem to fall back on what they view as "fan favourites" far too often and neglect, for example, Happiness Is The Road. How do other songs become fan favourites unless they're played? Of course, they've now got the issue of deciding what songs from AHBID to play on the autumn tour. I'd be happy to hear the whole album again.

I've really enjoyed these episodes, great work. It's amazing to find out which songs are over/under played. I'd love to hear from them why certain songs are favoured or not.
