Hope y'all dig the stream if you missed it. I also listened quickly to the new song from Renee and Megan for the Mean Girls movie but it was just kind of ehh.

I think people are just trying to make it clear that PinkPantheress isn’t an entirely original project, and that the “sound” that kpop fans might share with her is part of a collection of subgenres with already rich histories and greats. Not to mention, like kpop’s other loves of hip hop and rnb, dnb comes from jungle which is a genre of dance pioneered significantly by black British women. Many of them, unnamed and not credited for their legacy over the years. If you enjoyed the sound of Heaven Knows, maybe give Nia Archives a go, who is an awesome female UK dj playing with garage, rnb and dnb sounds :))

I know the “EDM boom” of the late 2000’s/2010’s got old fast for some, but to have more individualised sounds like Vicky’s and not just Calvin Harris beat drops, would be really lovely. I wish more people really gave dance genres a go, other than big radio hits, and the stigma about electronic music being soulless dies faster. Really fun watch Troy, loved the record scratches! Also, True Romance is definitely just stalker fanfic (not even her first stalker song💀), she’s also claimed My Chemical Romance are her favourite band, and guess who released a banger, iconic, decade staple album in ‘04…
