We listened to one song off the new drake album and then the NewJeans collab. Had to hit the new Noah Kahan collab too with Kacey Musgraves and then we went Nessa barrett, Holly Humberstone, and LoveJoy. What have y'all been listening to?

2023-10-07 15:58:01 +0000 UTCsomething i think that's important context about nessa's song: the lyrics about her trying to get into heaven and the "bouncer" not letting her in, it's important to know she had a suicide attempt a couple months after cooper (the friend) passed due to her grief as well as other mental health problems, he was her BESTEST friend like her absolute number one. the way i and i think many other people interpreted the "i can't get in" and the "bribing the bouncer to let her in" lyrics is her referencing that attempt
