Public File Release: KS-23M Conversion Kit

Hey folks, Timebomb here. It's about time that I throw my hat into the Patreon post ring, and I'll be starting things off with an overview of one of our 3D printing projects: Bushwookie's KS-23M conversion kit for M3 and M870 style tri-shot shotguns, which we have released for free.

Knock knock.

Just to be clear at the outset here, we are NOT going to be offering printing services for these files, or any of the other projects that you can find on our Thingiverse page. Our goal here isnt to make money off of these projects (on the contrary, offering print-on-demand services using our home 3D printers is a huge hassle), but to get these projects out into the community for folks to mess around with.

In keeping with that goal, we also want to stress that we will be sharing our projects under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial license, meaning that you are allowed to modify and share our files, but:

We understand that people like to get paid for their work, but we ask that you respect our desire to keep these projects open-source and community driven, rather than profit driven.

All that said...

The KS-23M Kit

Included on the Thingiverse page for the project are sets of files for converting M3-style and M870-style springer tri-shot shotguns. For the former, all of the files are broken out as individual files, and detailed descriptions of each can be found in the "Summary" section of the "Thing Details" tab on the page.

We recently added in files for the M870, with the notable difference being that the pump halves are intended to be held together with a trio of 0.125" rods, rather than with 3D printed clips as on the M3 version. The M870 version is also slightly higher fidelity, being a more recent iteration.

Instructions for post-processing and installation can also be found in the "Summary" section of the page.

For our patrons at the Hand Grenade and C4 tiers, be sure to keep your eyes peeled for a follow-up post in a few days, as we have a new benefit in the works: fully editable CAD files for our 3D printing projects, in .STEP form.

Make sure to post photos of your prints on the Thingiverse page, and happy printing!

I really need to get one of these trishots one of these days. this kit looks fantastic as well. I must say, pretty surprising to me that I haven't yet seen a kit to convert an M3/870 over into a Spas-12. Maybe I should get on that myself.

Flotsam
