Next Mytho-Resistance character(s)?

A lot of the models we use for our Mytho-Resistance warbands are from customizer programs (primarily Hero Forge and DesktopHero). Encouraging traditional miniature conversions (and use of those kinds of programs) is really at the core of the philosophy behind the faction, but we've gotta make a good selection of models in house for various reasons. So, as I tie up the initial run on the New Dominion range, I'm looking for suggestions on what to include in the Mytho-Resistance line. We've already made a couple of elves, and we have plenty of dwarves, but I'll include them on this list just because I know how popular that stuff is. I'm also including orcs and halflings (even though they aren't technically mythological beings), mostly because I know how popular they are and how accessible they are as models. We'll figure out the logistics of including that sort of fare (from a lore perspective) later.

HOWEVER...

I'm much more interested in the weirder stuff. Fantasy ancestries that come from non-Germanic myth that we don't get to see represented all that often. I'll include a few beings that we're already adapting for the RPG end of the New Dominion mythos here, but feel free to send us ideas in the comments too. Ultimately, we'll be limited in the number of things we initially include, as we don't want to overwhelm initiate warband builders with options, but its a list I want to see grow over time. (The master list of possible ancestries that we've considered including over the years is pretty long.) If you see something on this list and don't know what it is, look it up! Who knows, maybe you'll find your new favorite mythical being. Oh, and humans come from mytho-realities as well, but that'll be sort of a gimme, and any old model can work in that direction. Anyway, let us know what you think!

All cool creature ideas for something, definitely, but we’re looking for stuff from mythology.

Ill Gotten Games

Centaur but not the horse variety. Perhaps mechanical cyborg type. Half man half centipede type alien hybrid. Half humanoid with insect features with lower body of a wasp or beetle.

Mooseworks Plastic Soldiers

I love that what we have here is essentially a really unusual vampire myth.

Ill Gotten Games

Oh yeah, pint sized infiltration expert climbing walls and jumping fences, really useful until you find him 10 minutes later, ballooned to silly sizes having a post dinner nap.

I can ABSOLUTELY see one of these guys joining a resistance cell. And then… making more of them by eating the enemies? Haha.

Ill Gotten Games

Yeah, a great goblin alternative too.

But I am soooo into the Yara-ma-yha-who. Hell yeah.

Ill Gotten Games

Yeah, but see my above comment about the wendigo-

Ill Gotten Games

Yara-ma-ya-who, Wendigo and Domovoy are obviously lacking bud <3

Yeah, we definitely want to pull more from indigenous myth (the Mapinguari technically belongs in that distinction), but it’s something where you want to treat carefully so it doesn’t end up being gross appropriation (like the way the wendigo is both overused and misrepresented). Any particular candidates you’re interested in seeing?

Ill Gotten Games

How about pull from Native American Mythos? There are quite a few variations of different creatures you could play around with.

Hah, I don't know what is, but sounds great to me. I really like the hulder, and they make for an easy conversion piece for any human model (especially if you're proficient with using a little green stuff).

Ill Gotten Games

Hulder would be pretty clutch, though I'd love the idea of the mapinguari too! But I think Hulder would appeal to the anime crowd a lot as well, Lots of Raphtalias on the battlefield haha
