Public Build #3/Biweekly Build #29

Hi there!

Welcome to the third public build of DOAS 2! There's a lot of new content in here since the last public build, all of which is detailed in the changelog file, but I will skim over some of my favorite new stuff:

A lot of work has gone into this new content and I hope that you all are very happy with the new additions! Sidenote, I corrected a bug that was related to the time system, so if quests aren't becoming available when it says they should, you might have to start a new game (sorry about that).

That's all I've got, hope you enjoy!

i really love this game i hope it gets more content soon

This game has been shelved, semi-permanently. My reasoning for this has been posted elsewhere, but the gist of it is that I was trying to do something here that you should absolutely not use RPG Maker for. The goals I placed on the project were unattainable from the beginning and to save my mental health, I decided to move onto more carefully thought out projects that I can actually finish. Sorry if this is disappointing.

So is this game done or what?

Thanks for all your amazing work you've done so far on this game! (and your other games too!) I was just curious as a non-Windows user myself, since you're using RMMV for your games, any chance we could get Linux and/or Mac builds uploaded of the public releases of your games alongside the Windows releases? I know us non-Windows folks are in the huge minority, I've no delusions about that. Even if you can't technically support the other platforms hardware/testing-wise I'd understand of course (and I'd hope your other fans in similar situations would as well) but it would give folks who aren't on Windows at least a better shot at having access to your great games as well, and MV supports exporting to all 3 platforms these days (...and I know there is Wine as an option for some folks on Mac and Linux platforms, but unfortunately Wine isn't always the most reliable alternative, especially not for the average basic computer user. Mine for example has no trouble running XP/VX/Ace games but balks at every RMMV game.exe Windows executable I throw at it. Go figure.) Anyway just some food for thought perhaps for the future if nothing else! My self-serving request aside, keep up the awesome creativity though regardless! We're all appreciative of everything you do!

There's a shrine you need to find first. Check around where the game starts.

This is a great game, thanks a lot! But I had a question: how to enter the towers? Where to get the keys?

Thanks for the thorough report Durandal!

Godspeak

The border checkpoint is a blockade for now, there's no way to get past it. The towers are Penance, Chastisement, Atonement, Justice, and Retribution. You cannot get to Chastisement yet because it's on the other side of the border checkpoint.

What are the names of the five towers and how to get past the border checkpoint

Just sat down and played through all the content I could find, so I though I should offer you some feedback! SPOILERS BELOW! 1. Had an ABSOLUTE BLAST. As an avid player of DoaS 1, I knew I was going to, but your work still impressed me. 2. The Athyert Farm quest was fun, though I feel a little disappointed that it was over so quickly. 3. I have sent an entire inn and its inhabitants into another dimension in exchange for a shiny rock. I have mixed feelings about this. 4. The towers are super fun! However, I feel they encourage save-scumming... After ou've seen the spanking cutscene a few times it gets a little annoying since it can't be skipped or sped up, making it more convenient to just make sure you save at each floor, and then exit and open your save if you fall. If there's a fifth one, I haven't found it yet... and if it's not in there yet, I'm looking forward to working through it! 5. About the Demestri quest... in the future, will there be an option to convince Demestri that the spanking is just part of the game and to let Imogen and Ortha spank you? 6. The Taming Revennais quest was fun and interesting, but.. the cryting sound really brought me out of it. Could that final crying sound be disabled when the player chooses they don't want their character spanked to tears during the starting selection or something? 7. I think it might be beneficial for Jezetha's letter not be removed from the inventory once you read it, in case you're an idiot like me and go gallivanting across the land and forget where the heck you're supposed to go, and have to start a new game so you can read the letter again.
