The Conjuring 2 (2016) Movie Reaction

I don't know if this is because of the movie that we watched but during the time we watched it, a few weird things happened. One of them was that our microphone decided to quit on us! We will sound less clear because we used the camera audio. Next was that we forgot to record the movie so that it syncs with our reaction 😫 it took a while to upload this one 'cause it was tricky! but we are glad we survived with this one! this one had too many jumpscares! 😱

The Conjuring 2 (2016) Movie Reaction

oh yea, the first one seems more classic, here though i got more terrified, i don't know how. this Director looks like he really knows what he is doing

very insightful info right here. i heard a lot about those stories too.. different ones though but quite similar sometimes i avoid talking too much about it, some people will find it cringy.. cuz they don't believe in such things, but that's not the reason why.. i avoid bcuz i invite them in if i talk too much about it here in Romania we have waaaay too many stuff going on, most of the teenagers laugh hard at those stories.. but the devil doesn't play with them, bcuz they are already lost doing sex pre 18, having multiple partners early on.. doing alcohol, and more the devil doesn't need to do anything there.. they are doing his work already but for those who try to be good and abstain from temptations.. those are targetted by the devil here we have a huge circle of witches too, gypsy ones.. they go by ranks.. the most highest one is like a queen.. they don't talk about it.. is bad luck they say.. plus she cast spells against anyone who call her name i will tell you a story about a very close friend of mine.. his grandma had a big dispute with one of their daughter in law.. him mom was supposed to inherit the old lady's house.. but her brother has a wife, who she also aspire to get this house too.. so she went to a witch.. and she cast a lot of bad luck spells.. loose buttons braided with different shape thrown over the old lady's fence.. one day she couldn't get up from the bed.. they all thought she was paralyzed from the waist down.. she stayed in the bed for months.. until this friend of mine went to a witch also.. she recognize that even him carry a curse.. he had to do a cleanse spell.. he paid a lot of money.. and then she told him how to undo the old Lady's curse too.. she said ''go inside her room, under her bed, there is big dark luggage, open and untie what is tied'' he was confused.. but did as she said.. he went home.. checked under her bed.. it was indeed a big dark old luggage.. that seemed empty.. but when he opened.. a dead dry from was there.. he got scared.. but he noticed the frog had black string tied around it's legs.. so he untie it.. next day, the old lady got up and walked like nothing happened and many more.. but i will stop here, i dont really like to talk about those

About the movie now haha! I definitely prefer the first one but this one is still very good! The first one just has classic scenes. One of the strengths of these movies is the central relationship of Ed and Loraine. Amongst the horror their care and love for each other feels genuine and makes you care for them. The families in each film are really fleshed out too so you feel so sorry for them. Many horror are just full of unlikable but not here, all the characters you want the best for. James Wan is a modern horror great director, his movies went on to become whole franchises. He directed the first 'Saw' - there are 10 Saw movies -, directed the first two 'Insidious' - there are now 5 'Insidious' movies -, directed the first two 'Conjuring' - there are currently 8 in the "Conjuring Universe". He makes horrors with low to mid budgets ($1M-$20M) and made Warner Bros so much money! He really understands what people like in horror and how to scare them, that they become huge hits. Becuase of his movies they let him direct big budget films like "Aquaman" and "Fast and Furious 7". When you get to October you have to do his movies 'Saw', 'Dead Silence' and 'Insidious'. 'Insidious' is a popular reaction on youtube too, people say Insidious and Conjuring and the scariest modern movies they've seen. In October too you should watch "The Amityville Horror" (2005) starring Ryan Gosling. It's a creepy movie of that story. Can't wait for "Insidious" eventually!

Great reaction! Love hearing folklore tales from Marian. For someone so scared you know a lot of information on things demons aha. "The Nun", the spin-off about this nun is actually set in Romania! In a real place that is still there! I knew a couple people years ago who were practicing Wiccan (like Paganism) and they would do rituals to summon demons from the Key of Solomon. They wouldn't do any baby sacrifice aha, they would do things like not eat for days to weeks and go to spots believed to be spiritually strong (crossroads, cemeteries, caves and natural spots, etc). They would summon the "Goetic Demons" to do things for them, similar to your story, they could do things like increase their luck for specific occasions. The word "demon" comes from Greek word "daemon" which more meant "spirits" than just an evil being, when Christianity started dominating places they made a lot of spirituality of other cultures illegal and "demonised" them, making them evil. Like the Greek God Pan - who represents humans connection to nature and 'the wild' (half human, half goat. human/nature) - was portrayed dancing in the wild with groups of naked people around him. This image and the goat image of Pan were used to start representing satan. As the wild lifestyle of Pagans was so opposite to Christianity's relationship to the body. Practicing with those spirits is meant to be very dangerous and if you dont follow proper routine you can bring a lot of bad into your life. But people can also be healers using these spirits, they're all not inherently bad many of them. Ask Joy about "Siquijor". It's a place in Philippines that used to be known as "Island of the Witches" but now goes by "Island of the Healers". When the Spanish came they said the natural religious traditions were demonic even though many of these people were actually just spiritual and herbal healers. Even now people from the West go there for spiritual treatments and many of the healers mix Christianity with the pre-colonial natural religions. Even there tho, like you say, people can put "hexes" or "curses" on people; if good exists so does bad. People can use it to heal, others can use it to get higher up in society. Random fun rabbit hole to go down: reading about "John Dee". He Christian, was one of the best mathematicians and advisor to Queen Elizabeth I and also and alchemist and occultist. He was a mix of science and "magic" and communicating with angels and gave information from them
