yeah.. good thing we didn't see him suffer...

I felt so sad for Gomez in this episode.

Tennille Sinclair

don't know what is wrong with Patreon.. the comment was deleted.. but anyway.. i agree with you, Skyler saw it coming from a mile away.. being scared doesn't take away the guilt in this.. she could have done something more.. i don't know.. Like how she defended her kids with the knife scene.. why not do it sooner? but hey.. what can we do.. but 99% of the fault is Walter's, he alone brought these wrong doings to the extreme..

exactly! i mean where the need to see justice either? did Walter got what he deserved here? YES! seeing his empire falling apart is more damaging than dying..

I don't know what to say about this episode other than😔.. I know people want to think well, if this character or that character hadn't done "this"... then "this" wouldn't have happened.. it's his fault, her fault, my fault, your fault, everybody's fault.. but the bottom line is, if Walter hadn't made the decision in the first season to start cooking meth.. none of this would've happened.. it's that decision alone that set this whole thing ablaze..

true! wish it didn't end it like this... just wish..

Right!

SylMyl

True. Nothing he can do will change the horrific acts he committed. That scene only lets us know that at least 5 percent of the old Walt is still there somewhere but the devil has consumed him almost entirely. I really don't feel bad for Skyler or anyone else, except for maybe Marie because she lost her husband..even though she had her own issues with stealing. I only feel bad for Hank who was just doing his job and the kids who are the real Innocence.

I’m a little confused why you’ve turned against Walter so much. I very much still wanted him to escape being caught right to the end. He really did try to do things for the best of both Jessie and his family. Some things he did were truly despicable but there were competing virtues.

He didn’t kill Hank. He desperately tried to save Hank. He was willing to give up his entire fortune to spare Hank’s life. $80,000,000!!!

His words did matter, to save Skyler.

SylMyl

Yes 😭 I cried like all of the last 4 episodes of this season. I cant even tell how many times I saw BB and it always makes me cry.

SylMyl

i did felt those feelings.. but i was more into Skyler's feelings.. he reached the end line.. he couldn't go further.. he killed HANK! nothing of what he will say more will count... he could have said whatever.. didn't matter.. like Hank said ''Walter you are so smart, but to stupid to see''

it really was.. i thought is gonna end worse than that... for me when he took the little Holly was more scary.. i have a daughter of my own and i will not be terrified for nothing more than seeing her go away.. but i only got it here from the comments why he did that... so Skyler will not be blamed... i don't know if that was his plan.. but yeah.. still doesn't change anything

Well not probably 😄 this is 100% for sure. Walter had this idea because of Hank. He showed him the possibilities and he discovered Jessie :)

SylMyl

wow! that's deep and fits Walter's life tremendously

haha so funny bcuz i couldn't see that one.. it makes sense now when i think about it.. but little does it matter when i know what Walter did.. a little chivalry from him counts as 0... Skyler lost way too much anyway.. Marie lost it too.. Hank his life.. everyone..

yeah... but at the same time, Walter lost it all... i saw it in his eyes when he saw Hank dead...

haha probably yea, but in the same time.. bad things can never go smoothly either... this show felt and still feels more real than life it'self

oh we did? ughhh i hate it when we misunderstand it!

freaking hell! really? i kinda understand why if you ask me

i felt so empty in this episode.. but what i saw in Walter's eyes was a reverse process.. if until now he only broke worst and worst.. maybe he saw it finally.. how destructive this was.. especially when he brought back the kid... like Hank said '' Walter your so smart, but too stupid to see''

Walter was not mad, he was hurting and saved Skyler with that call. Go and listen once again to what he is saying. He asked if she is alone and she said NO. No police. He told her to just listen. She understood and did not say a thing. He said „oh what do u know?! It was all me, I did it by myself“. You feel sorry for Jessie? He did it all with Walter. Jessie killed. And now he goes and rats Walter out? Jessie was like family to Walter… they had the son and father relationship. Walter saved Jessies life a few times risking his own. He run over the two dealers to save Jessie. Convinced Gus a lot of times that he needs Jessie so he stays alive and so on… Life isnt always Black and White.

I had to call a friend after the episode aired to help get my head straight. Skyler and Walt and the knife really disturbed me. For all the violence on the show, that moment was particularly terrible.

Ellie Miller

Ozymandias is a poem by Percy Shelley. It's about a man travelling in the desert who stumbles upon a broken statue. All that's left of the statue are two legs. There's no body, no arms, and the head is shattered on the ground. The man reads the statue and it says: "My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings: Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!" But the man looks around and there's nothing. The kingdom is gone. And nobody remembers this king. There's only desert.

Ellie Miller

At the end when Walt called Skyler on the phone he was trying to take all the blame and take the heat off of her. He knows the police are listening so he's putting on an act. Making it seem like she is innocent and had no part in his dealings in order to get her off the hook. That's why he was crying because he didn't mean the things he was saying. What a dark episode.

Joe Lazarus

This. You can tell by the expression on Walt's face, and the fact that he's crying, that it's painful for him to say these things. It's the general consensus that he was trying to get her off the hook with the feds, or at least make things easier for her. Definitely one of the best episodes of television ever.

Mic

Yes, as Yo DJ said above, kidnapping Holly and the phone call in the end was Walt's improvised plan to make Skyler look like a blameless victim in this. Skyler understood this, which is why she didn't argue and just said "you're right, im sorry"

Ravi

Hank deserves ZERO blame. But I find it interesting that none of this would have ever happened if Hank hadn't invited Walt to a ride along to "Get a little excitement in his life."

Matt Brickner

Guy, this was one of the best ever. But you both didn’t seem to comprehend that Walt was saying those things on the phone to save Skyler. It’s not that he “wanted to win”.

Even 10 years later this is still the highest rated episode in history. They even went into Guinnes World records with that one.

Karl Marx Grill

Some people say this episode is the greatest episode of television ever. I am one of those people.
