Big Ol Update
Added 2019-08-30 14:27:27 +0000 UTCHey guys! Lots of stuff to update you on!
1. Implemented the random event system for exploring the city, the desert, and the beach in the Twine game.

How it works is the game generates a random number, and depending on what it is it sends you to one of four categories.
Normal Event-
Referred to as an event in the code for simplicity, these let you meet new people, experience silly situations, and other things. These usually have a heavy amount of player choice, and can potentially lead into optional sidequests with big rewards, like lots of money or even sex scenes. This is the most common type of thing to happen when you explore the city, the desert, or the beach.
Fight Event-
In these you're attacked by some kind of thug, or ghost, or thuggish ghost. Running away from these fights is extremely easy, unlike scripted battles in sidequests or the main plot. Winning means getting money, items, or other goodies. Each of the three locations has its own encounter table, including a rare encounter that provides amazing rewards but is difficult and can only be won once. This is the second most common thing that could happen.
Item Event-
In these, you find an item lying around and it is immediately added to your inventory. The item pool is similar to the ones available from winning fights in the area, but are higher quality, or you find more money. This means even people who don't wanna deal with the combat system very much can have a simple way to get items and money to help with sidequests. This is the second least common thing that could happen.
Sex Event-
These are events that always, no ifs ands or buts, lead to a sex scene. Because of their nature, there are never any repeats, so if you see all of them they stop happening. These are the least common thing that could happen.
There are ten possible slots for each kind of event, and three different locations, meaning there are 120 different possible outcomes of taking your character for a walk. If more normal events are needed, they will take slots from the sex scenes.

2. Implemented new graphics and cutscene animations for Zap and Andy
The two main characters of Zap and Andy now have graphics for reacting to situations and act a lot more dynamic in cutscenes because of it. I took a break from working on puzzles to put these in and modify existing cutscenes to let the characters emote properly. I also had to test and experiment with the new sprites, and in some cases move or modify them to keep them in line with existing ones in order to make the entire experience seamless.

In addition to that there are more idle animations now, I figured out a way to make the transition between talking and idle pretty fluid!
3. Day One of My Roommate's Dad is outlined.

Green is events, blue is puzzles, yellow is branching paths, and pink is sex scenes.
This one's pretty simple, a few of the proposed sections had to be replaced because there was no way to make them work without forcing the player to use "moon logic". As it is now this should be extremely easy to understand and enjoy one-handed.
This upcoming week I have plans to continue working on Z&A's puzzles, code the inventory and database for the twine game, write all the lines for MRD and write a LOT of sex scenes. :V
Hope you guys have a great weekend! :D
