haha yeah that's what I thought! In Tagalog/Filipino, the pronouns are gender neutral as well hahah. Han Tae using He/Him pronouns when talking about his crush would have been a big reveal but when Yuong Mi didn't react I figured they weren't actually using any signifying pronouns or verbiage that signified that he liked a guy lol.
But yes! What you said made sense hehe thank you for clarifying!

To answer your question about the pronouns, no, Korean as a language doesn't really have pronouns like he/him or she/her. For translators, I believe they use the context of the scene and situation to put pronouns in to make it sound more comfortable to English speakers. But technically neither Hantae or Youngmi were using any kind of verbiage that would indicate if it was a guy or girl. Which is why you see people in Korean BLs sometimes being surprised when they find out a guy likes a guy even if they knew they liked someone. Unless they're told it's a guy specifically, it could be either or, though, being pretty conservative, a lot of Korean take it to be talking about a girl rather than a guy. I hope that makes sense and I didn't make it too confusing!
