As for the age issues, it was already explained that age difference wasn't that drastic back then (but the way 21-year-old San keeps talking about 14-year-old Tharn is weird indeed as well as the fact that Thorn is basically covering up what he did and his family is considering him as Tharn's friend, too). From what I remember about the book, Tharn just had that one time with San, it was not pleasant to say the least, and they didn't actually date after it, just stayed friends somehow. I believe it means San didn't really hit on him after it, even if he had some hidden feelings for Tharn, and what he did in this episode was just teasing and testing Type. Not that it excuses what he did, especially since as I learnt, age of consent is 15 in Thailand, so basically San was breaking the law back then. Some ppl think Tharn was also a victim of abuse and got a trauma because of it, that's why he could relate to Type so well, a bit like in VegasPete case. But I don't see it in the series at least. One more thing that always bothers me in general is the fact that if smth is shown but not explicitly accused in the series it's considered as normalization or even propaganda of such behavior when it's not always the case. Yes, some characters make bad decisions, now or in the past, but we have our own brains to make conclusions about those things and not blindly copy them. This series is rated 18+ so it's aimed to adults who can make their own decisions.

I relate to his grumpiness and trauma so that is why he is my favorite! His journey of self hate to accepting love and learning to love himself is very satisfying to watch.
