From their perspective they've got a suspect who, however young and innocent looking, just violently and openly stabbed someone without any provocation just a few hours before... so they have to go in strong if only for their own safety.

I was the victim of violent crime and went through the same thing Jamie did as a suspect. It was horrific but the right thing to find to the person via DNA. The questioning from police is spot on too. It’s about gathering information and building the evidence up

2026-01-21 05:30:40 +0000 UTCI loved the one-shot approach, there are some behind the scenes clips on YouTube which shows how the camera comes in on a crane/dolly, is handed off to another camera operator to enter the house, getting in the van etc. When I watched this originally, I felt glued to every episode - because it felt like you were watching something live and couldn't look away for a second. I've heard the episodes almost likened to being a theatre play - everyone had to be ready and in the correct spot to play their part all the way through.

2026-01-21 01:15:25 +0000 UTCit is a lot but when a prime suspect is identified, this is how they bring them in. knocking and asking nicely would just end up more confrontational. i got my door bashed in once, years ago, at 5am. apparently they got a 'tip off' that my crap 1 bed flat was being used for human trafficking. bunch of dudes with guns shouting "is there anyone else in here?" and all i could think to say was "as far as i know" lmao
