LCP Dependencies (and v3 Compendium updates)
Added 2023-08-05 21:21:47 +0000 UTCHello, everyone!
In retrospect, public Patreon posts have always been the best, simplest, and most obvious place to put C/C updates, so of course it took me until now to figure it out. Oh well.
Anyway, some pretty significant behind the scenes stuff is live on v2:
- All public-facing Massif LCPs now have a whole fancy DevOps pipeline (thanks to longtime contributor Valkyrion) that makes most updates fire-and-forget on my end. This means moving forward I should be able to be much faster on making changes and corrections to Massif content
- LCP dependencies have been backported from v3 into v2, which is a way for LCP creators to signal to COMP/CON that other LCPs need to be installed before theirs can be. C/C will point this out to the user, and prevent them from installing things out of order. It will also arrange LCP load order intelligently, which I know has been a problem when creators were attempting to use eg. Tags from other content.
In v3 (https://cc-dev-preview.netlify.app) news
- (nearly) all compendium pages have gotten a significant overhaul, representative of the way COMP/CON is going to handle all content data going forward, including in item selectors etc. It brings content packs into a first-order organizational key, which I know has been a pain point for a lot of users, especially those who like to collect a lot of community content. It should be fairly straightforward, but I'm always curious to hear what hits and misses.
- In the compendium, you might also see some placeholder charts and graphs that are currently getting tinkered with -- the ones on the Frame data elements are filled with real data and are probably closest to how they'll end up. I'm still iterating on these, so expect to see some progress on them soon, especially in terms of comparisons with other items.
Immediately next for me is to squash some bugs that have arisen preventing certain users from being able to save profile data, like theme. I finally understand what's going on with this now (took a while!) and will have a fix out shortly along with some other v2 bugs in 2.3.19. Expect another public Patreon post sometime after that with more information about progress on v3's Pilot Mode.
Thanks, as always, for your continued generosity!

P.S. I'm now on bluesky (https://bsky.app/profile/beeftime.bsky.social) as twitter/x descends further into madness. Until it goes public I won't post anything of any real substance about C/C or related projects, so you won't be missing anything if you want to stick to here and/or the discord
