Hey folks! Back with some more TD action. I've mostly been cracking at the intro scene again this past week. These are assorted assets and scenes that are under construction.
The first animation is going to be one of the final scenes, which shows a seeker drone creeping up on the final invader. BOOM! Title screen appears. This rough layout of the scene doesn't yet include the motion of the sprites. Also, the smoke trail is a rough concept that needs more tweaking. I made it with an effect in after effects and there are several more effects and settings I can try to make it mesh better. Also, I tilted the background in 3d space to give it a bit of perspective.
The next animation is a smaller version of the Titan, which I plan to use for a scene where it flies head on at the the invader and they cross paths nearly scraping paint. After that fly by Taz will yank back the stick to loop back to the invader's 6.
The final image is a modified version of the hand I've shown in previous posts. This version has a solid grip with the thumb wrapped around the stick. I intend to apply motion to show the stick being pulled back, and hopefully it will look convincing enough without having to make more frames.
As always, there's testing and tweaking going on. I mentioned we have been combing through all the levels and making improvements with a focus on shortening the levels and tightening the action. We're not cutting anything, just snugging things up and adding more things to blow up to increase action without increasing difficulty. Well, we're nearly done with these revisions and only have a couple more levels to revise.
