Hey all! gamedev month is in full swing. I've mostly been working on progressing the intro this week. I set up a project in After Effects where I'm putting everything together and trying to sync things with music. It's coming together nicely, but I still need to create more assets for additional scenes. The final intro will be just under a minute in length and I have about 30 solid seconds now, so about halfway done. Now that I've come this far and established the vision I expect the second half to come together quicker.
I showed off this scene a long time ago, but I've made some revisions. I changed the timing so it flows better and fits better with the soundtrack. I also made it so the all the cells stay on the screen until the end of the scene, making for a better composition and easier digestion of all the information. Another new detail is the dust effects. Maybe it's not realistic to have dirt clouds in space, but it looks cool, and it's a game, so...
I also spent some time on the trailer this week. I created a rough version last month that is all straight gameplay, but it needs some more punch to it. So I'm working on a new version with more editing flare and pumping bgm. Capturing the perfect footage is the tedious part, and it looks like I need to do more of that.
We also have some calibrators working on some additional SFX and voice over this month.
