But Of Course You Know, This Means War: Tea Time

This was something I started drawing yesterday without much of a plan & by the time I was done, I had the start of what might turn into an extremely loose "series." To be clear, I'm not talking about a sequence or a progression, but something more a long the lines of a few reoccurring original characters, contentious roommates in the big city, that (lightheartedly) keep ending up in these sort of situations.

Not entirely sure what instigated this particular incident, but it seems like the cooler-than-thou, artsy, sarcastic one found a way to inflate the sportier, more basic one & use the poor girl as if she was a comfy breakfast nook for her morning tea or probably more like coffee.  Not pictured is the third, mousier neutral roommate who just happens to practice magic, whose mystical book & artifacts are often stolen by these two in order to do this sort of thing to the other one.

It's all pretty vague beyond that. Feel free to suggest names if you'd like for each of the three (the snarky hipster artist, even though the term hipster is played you know, that type, the athletic, basic one, & the quiet, magic practicing one), & maybe I'll throw in the ones I was thinking & I can throw up some polls or something.

In other business, I had to swap an old monitor onto my system & I'm not entirely sure how the colors are calibrated so if it's a little too pink or green or something, sorry. Please pardon the dust. That's something I can fix once I get this set up a little better figured out.

Comments

Oh & responded to your other comment, but ended up totally forgetting to answer your excellent question. LoL And while that wasn't my intention, I think it's pretty clear I have certain types as I sort of came to the same realization later too that they are pretty similar. I'd say officially, no, only because the girl in the beanie is ultimately a lot more courteous than the quarrelsome artist here. But unofficially, feel free to consider it a prequel LoL

Holy crap, dude! I was getting ready to post a basic character sketch of the three with some of the ones I had been considering along with some of few other folks have suggested. But I only had about 6 or 7 for each. This is a lot! But there are a few I think we were thinking along the same lines with (especially with the blonde, as like Holly, Piper, McKenzie, & Brie, short for Brianna are all on my list already, but also Poppy & Cora) & others I had for like different girls (for instance, I have Esme & Delilah swapped, & I had been thinking of something like Gianna for the artist, but didn't pull the trigger on that yet). For the purposes of this, I think I might just pick my favorites (that I don't have already) & add them to this current sketch for now, but maybe when I get around to doing a poll, I'll see how many they will let me enter. If not, I constantly need names for characters & this is an excellent resource that will help me out in the future for sure! So thank you very much for taking the time!

I might veto Angela, only as I've already used it in a very long story I did, & know a few that are antithetical to that type of character (even though I hate the idea of basing characters on people I know). I do like the other two though, so I'll definitely add them to the lists. Thanks

100% down for this concept

Jagnir

Good stuff, I like how you're doin the puffy cheeks! As for names... Artsy: Zayda, Athlete: Angela (maybe Ann for short?), Magic: Maria?

Chubn

Thanks! I didn't get exactly what I was going for (they're a little brownish where I just wanted them to be on the darker side), but I got pretty came close. That's something I'm going to keep toying with.

BNevis

Sporty girl's hair roots being darker is a nice detail. She looks like someone I know actually.

Debauched Sloth

Damn, originally I was only going to give the artsier one that. And while I was going to stick to something still script & handwritten, go with something a little more "young professional" like shill-IG -influencer sort of thing for the other girl. But then I forgot.

BNevis

I like how they all speak coffee shop chalkboard art.

BP

Oh, yeah. Don't worry. No one in the house is safe.

BNevis

also, I hope said artsy woman gets a nice big Karma dose

JadetheGuilmon

Sharise for the artsy woman?
