But you have to deal with it your way and every situation is different so it's difficult to establish a protocol for it. You need to know what your limits are and when to stand your ground. The most important thing is to communicate them clearly so others might pick it up if you need help. And even more important, keep yourself safe, ending a session sonner than planed can really suck, but your health is top priority.
2024-01-02 06:18:21 +0000 UTCSo my point is, I think most people are just really chill. 99.99% of the people who don't like or care about your music will just keep on walking because what they really hate more than anything is having a bad interaction with a stranger. But when people do like your music, you're gonna notice it 100% of the time.
2024-01-02 06:10:26 +0000 UTCI can't really awnser that question because I nerver experience bad behavior from stangers while busking. But I got this one story that could have been. While I was busking in the subway of my city some guy started to listen to me for a awhile (10 minutes or so, long enough for me to notice) but he kept his distance he was standing like 20 meters from me. Now I'm not sure when, but he started to film me and getting closer and closer to me. Orevall the guy had a good vibe, he was dancing, smiling cheering and hyping me up. So I just went along with it, when he started to film me close to a meter from me in selfie mode, I Just own in and act like I was playing for my own videoclip or something. He stayed dancing next to me for a good half an hour. At some point he pulled up some cheap jewerly and hung them on my lectern. He asked if we could go and eat somewhere close to the main hub of the metro. I follow the guy 45 minutes because he wanted me to meet his musicians friends. I also wanted to meet other musicians. At the end, his phone died, he could not find his friends so I just went home. He also gave me a small umbrella, and bought me some candy at the convience store.

If you really want people to stand, you have to bring some friends who are already standing there. Then the others dare too.

2024-01-01 04:59:10 +0000 UTChappy 2024...so cute. a segue to REN as i could share this to up and coming generations...as many, esp. young/school aged people love performing; an outlet into another realm they're primed for...much admiration for buskers, markets, streets, festivals, having no hesitation in departing with a few hard earned pennies....Watching some of your busking vids, you do it so 'unabashedly' your heart and soul infused in that very moment..transporting others being free to dig deep...so cool...dont mind being the observer...love to see you perfrm...busking at Glastonbury?. Touring doubt it, not here anyway in the land of Oz so, so glad to hear what you're putting out this year; visuals an absolute bonus, and yeah this content. 2023-12-31 20:05:46 +0000 UTCI just watched Gorran play and sing MY WAY from a chair! On Instagram. It was really nice to see and feel! He had similar advise talking about his 3 months hitchhiking around Europe in 2015. Doing it non stop really developed his voice and confidence.

2023-12-31 18:15:53 +0000 UTCIt's funny how you mentioned projecting yourself even from a chair, the most amazing performance I saw was Ben Harper (early days) and his whole first set was simply him and the guitar in a chair. No movement, no band, just him playing in a chair, but he had a way of connecting with everyone just from that chair.

You didn't say IF I sell out arenas I'll still busk. You said WHEN I sell out arenas. Love that. And I have no doubt you will sell out arenas! Hoping you are healthy enough for SGP because I'm coming from the US for my first international trip in hopes of seeing you perform.
