If/when you return to Young Thug, I might recommend reaching out to Reb. She's a great voice who's started watching it pretty closely, and is a fellow podcaster. Here's a clip of her talking about events this week: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZPRooVJr8/

2024-08-08 06:14:45 +0000 UTCNot that much to it. There is a tort called intentional interference w business relations for inducing someone to breach a contract. But it doesn't sound like contracts were breached -- just not renewed. Also, he's likely to imply that Twitter was defamed, but that likewise fails.

2024-08-07 20:17:54 +0000 UTCI know it's not "rapid response", but I would still love to hear Thomas's OA tale whenever he feels up to it. That has been the #1 topic I'd like to hear ever since he came back!

2024-08-07 20:10:35 +0000 UTCCan we please point and laugh at Elon Musk suing advertisers? It seems like such a bonkers lawsuit there must be some A++ legal nonsense. Has there been anything like it before? How much is he spending on it? Just how bad of an idea is it? Inquiring minds want to know.
Wishing every Clarence Thomas a very God rest his soul
2024-08-07 19:42:48 +0000 UTCI like the implications of the question, but I wonder if may be a lot to take on just because it seems like a mix of international/IP/copyright/Chilean law. But I'll give it a heart because its the perfect "little" issue that I find interesting.
Apparently the only attorney who read the rules of professional conduct
2024-08-07 19:32:48 +0000 UTCThis might be a bit silly, but it has been on my mind for a while now. According to the meme, in 2003 when Chile first aired Star Wars: A New Hope on tv, they didn't want to break for commercials....for some reason...so instead they spliced in the advertisements as if they were part of the movie as seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hfRjN3txdM This seems pretty ridiculous in terms of modifying the movie that you presumably have a commercial license for, but also kind of a great idea? If HBO wanted to, could they stream Dune: Part Two, but with a cut to a fake, but sweaty Timothee Chalamet drinking a delicious glass of Pepsi Cola, the preferred cola of the Fremen. Now with even more spice!

2024-08-07 19:06:12 +0000 UTCAgreed! This seemed like the biggest legal news of the week to me. I'd love to know more about the facts and findings here, and about the implications for Google and for other tech companies. As a smaller part of the story, I've also heard that Mozilla makes some huge portion of their revenue from Google paying them to make their search engine the default on Firefox, so I'd be curious to know whether that is true, and what this ruling means for Mozilla specifically.

2024-08-07 19:03:56 +0000 UTCI'd love to see the Musk lawsuit talked about. It seems the dumbest thing I ever heard for a variety of reasons: First of all, if money is speech, then wouldn't they be arguing for compelled speech. Second of all, it sure sounds to me like he wants to say that ads are a commodity? I mean, otherwise I don't think the argument makes sense at all. Third of all, is he saying that third party rating boards are illegal? So no more ESRB or MPA film ratings? It seems super stupid.

2024-08-07 19:01:27 +0000 UTCIs there any merit to challenging the Republican VP nominee on the basis that "JD Vance" is not a natural born citizen of the United States? Wouldn't he be required to be sworn in as James Donald Bowman? But in seriousness, and in regards to the Biden reform concepts, can you give a primer on the scope of authority that Congress has to set up and regulate the Federal Judiciary vs what scope is purely constitutional and reserved for the courts themselves? Maybe a brief timeline of the various Judiciary Acts of 1789, 1801, etc?
