Since it dosent explain in the anime, megido uses water to refract light from the sun into a denser beam. Essentially hes using it like a super magnifying glass.

I particularly like how it was basically using seemingly mundane/natural things to make an extremely powerful spell able to massacre an army. It likely didnt even use that many of his magicules because it was using natural things. Also why the lasers themselves were uneffected by the anti magic barrier he put down. Basically just used slime/water droplets to make ridiculously powerful lenses for the sun and then the smaller droplets as mirrors to reflect the beams of light to his targets. Ever put a magnify glass to ant? Because that what he just did them times a 1000. And to thousands of people at once.
