Behind the Art of Hashira Movie

I hope you enjoyed my latest film! Today, I'd like to dive deeper into the artistic process and scriptwriting that go into creating a product of this scale.

We live in a time where we're bombarded with content—on social media, we can access hundreds of minutes of entertainment in seconds, scrolling endlessly for more. But, take a moment to pause and consider the countless hours and effort behind each piece of work.

-61 Scenes in 120 Days
For my Hashira Meeting movie, as you may have noticed, it took 4 months to bring 61 animated scenes to life. If you do the math, that’s 120 days of work (no days off), which means that I was completing a scene roughly every two days—one day for the drawing, and the next for animating. And, as you can see, most scenes feature 2 to 4 characters.

-Portraying the Hashira
As many of you know, I strive to stay true to the original canon in my animations. For this film, I’ve woven in many subplots that the Demon Slayer fandom holds dear, such as:

• The ship between Shinobu and Tomioka

• The big man/little woman trope (Gyomei and Shinobu)

• Tokito’s memory lapses

• The fun dynamic between Tengen and his wife Makio

• Obanai’s jealousy when Mitsuri isn’t treated right

• The rivalry/competition between Sanemi and Tomioka

• The ship between Obanai and Mitsuri
  ...and many more!

-A Massive Voice Cast
This time, numerous voice actors came together to bring these characters to life, and honestly, I believe the casting is undeniably perfect. The voice similarities and their ability to convey exactly what each scene needed have made the characters shine more than ever.

-Final Thoughts
After sharing all these details, I want to take a moment to highlight the tremendous effort that traditional animators and artists put into bringing projects like this to life and sharing them with the world.
