A Transparent Update

Hello everyone,
First of all, I wanna start by saying thank you very much to all of you who filled out the feedback form recently. I do appreciate it very much.
That being said, it's time to get down to business. After going through a lot of these forms and talking to fellow game dev friends, I realize that each of the major releases of CCC so far have actually all been their own separate games, and their own separate prototypes. Stripping away certain elements and replacing them with others to figure out what works. But I can't keep doing that. I need to stop prototyping and make something definitive, or this thing will never get done.
I think a big mistake of mine was not releasing more incremental updates for Patrons and gathering feedback as I went along. Which was my intention at first, but things got wrapped up in a combination of coding dependancies that just kept making things buggy, and wanting releases to feel really big and impactful. But during this feedback gathering phase, I've dug deeper and learned more about things like Event Systems to make my systems more modular and stable.

Anyways, there's no easy way to say this, so I'm just gonna rip the bandage off. I am contemplating restarting this whole thing one more time. With a proper feasible scope, proper modularity, and proper road map, and keeping you all updated more often with more Patron-exclusive incremental builds.
I understand if that sounds frustrating, and if you feel to leave the Patreon because of that, I totally understand, because the wait has already been so long. Part of me doesn't want to do it this way either after all the work I did. But after the feedback given on the test build of 1.3, I really don't think it's in a ideal state for public consumption. Like, fundamentally.

But if I haven't lost you yet, please allow me to share what I plan to do differently.

I would really like to provide more frequent devlogs and playable builds. I realize I've been keeping you all in the dark for a month at a time when it comes to sharing progress, and I don't want to go about things that way anymore. I would really like to give more progress reports, whether weekly or bi-weekly. Even if it's not the most exciting news.
Also, now that I'm coding things more modularly, I should be able to provide more playable progress builds to you all without fear of a million dependancy-related bugs. So I can gather your input and feedback while building this thing, and not after massive chunks have been made where it's too late to change anything. And hopefully everything can get done in a fraction of the time.

If feedback on this post approves, give me a month, and I'll try to have a new improved, stable character creator ready for you to start things off, with devlogs in between. With a proper road map soon after.

Again I'm really sorry to drop such a bombshell, and if you want to end your support, you're more than entitled to. But I figured it would be best to provide a transparent update rather than beat around the bush. And I just really wanna get this thing right this time. If I haven't lost you, I hope the plans I have listed out sound ideal to you (I'm also open to any other input as well).

But with that being said, thank you for your time. And I await your feedback.

As much as I understand your position, I feel like just giving up and restarting whenever things get difficult just leads nowhere. Please stop scrapping the house before you've even finished the foundation.
