Apropos things going wrong, Patreon has announced that they're gonna affix a 35-cent fee to every transaction. This horrified me, because I am largely dependent on one-dollar donors - and why should they put up with a sudden 35% increase in their cost because Patreon is getting greedy?
This money -grab MAY end up stillborn, because for one thing, it blatantly violates Visa's Terms Of Service. But for now, all I can do is beg my $1 donors to hang on until we know for sure.

2017-12-08 23:45:46 +0000 UTCIf they really want to push their transaction fees onto the patreon (which as you say is against VISA and Mastercard's TOS) through a fixed fee, it should be on your total monthly pledge, not on each individual one. Otherwise it's unfairly punishing people who pledge a little to many creators or pledge per post to creators like yourself.

So, Karno, should this fee thing NOT be stillborn, I will find another way, perhaps paypal or the like, to send you the SAME amount as I have been here, through there. But MY expectation is that if/when Patreon actually starts charging this new fee, they will lose donors in droves and you creators will move elsewhere, or the donors will do like I plan to do, donate more directly.
