And frankly, I trust the hedonists more than I would the fanatics who "selflessly" dedicate their powers to holy causes. Like say, racial purity, for example. Adolf Shicklegruber got Germany on that kick back in the 40's and it did not end well.
But the pleasure-hounds aren't out to change the world for the "better" - they just want good wine on their tables and skilled lips around their wieners. They're not making any trouble for common folks. Good for them!

You just wrote a list of brutal dictators who worked fanatically to rise to power, and once they were in power, attacked their rivals and enemies with the same fanatic intensity. Where on earth would you get they idea they could be counted among easy-going hedonists??
