After a hard-working and boring day, getting lovingly pounced on by his eager puppy really brightens his day.

She has come a long way. His pup was a nervous wreck when he first brought her home. Now, she can't wait to jump on him as he enters the apartment. Her being so short standing on all four folded limbs means he has to help by crouching down, of course, but it's part of their fun.
