The last two Indiana Jones movies are too "shiny". Something about not being shot on film takes away from the feel of the movie. It is like shooting a western on digital film; it makes the era/scenes look too clean and sanitized.

Probably an old hat, but I'm a couple of decades behind the Twin Peaks discussion anyway: so I watched Marilyn Monroe interviews and in one she says that she's generally miserable. And that reminded me how David Lynch described Laura Palmer: "Radiant on the surface but dying inside." And sure enough the internet says that David Lynch and Mark Frost were inspired by Marilyn Monroe when they created Laura Palmer. This is what I love: finding those links and discovering more about those persons/characters. And since I rewatched Space Cop with only the soundtrack on (which I highly recommend, the sound design is fantastic, reminds me in parts of the subtle sound design in David Lynch movies), I discovered that Marilyn Monroe made it into Space Cop. Now I'm happy. ;-D

Id like to recommend everyone check out this fan film. Made over 20 years ago, it's RLM style nonsense and still understands the franchise better than Mangold. It also features the spear of longinus which made me laugh really hard in DOD https://youtu.be/AFMkxOE_SMc
