They can always dig out Danielle Harris or even Paul Rudd now... :P

Haven't watched the HitB episode yet. But having seen the movie now I gotta say at least it's not as atrocious as Halloween Kills. This one has at least a plot and some suspense and I found myself not bored the whole way through. But doing something a little different and subverting expectations is not an achievement in itself (ask Rian Johnson). And I found myself shaking my head and mumbling 'god, this is stupid' several times. In the end this is a baffling entry to the franchise that is ultimately frustrating and doesn't work for me. Either focus on a final Michael Myers/Laurie Strode face off or focus on the apprentice story and introduce a new Michael Myers. Instead it does neither....or better it does both half-assed.
Halloween Ends? We're not that lucky I'm sure.
Edit: After watching the episode, I would have liked the movie much more too if, as mentioned above, they actually followed through with the passing-of-the-torch story. As Mike suggested, have the Corey character's body sit up when Michael Myers is killed (or better yet, Corey's body has just disappeared when they return from killing Myers). But the way it is, the setup that takes up 75% of the movie's time does not pay off, and then they cram in a rushed (and unintentionally funny in parts) little showdown.

This movie is just BEGGING for a director’s cut that fixes the ending and tweaks a couple small things. Would make it a cohesive and intelligent horror movie and a worthy sequel to the first one or two Halloween films.
