I just listened to Jay Dyer's review of Dave McGowan's book "Weird Scenes Inside the Canyon: Laurel Canyon, Covert Ops and the Dark Heart of the Hippie Dream." About the manufactured counter culture of the 1960s to socially engineer the masses. Listening to this I got the impression that most of Hollywood is like what David Lynch shows in Mulholland Drive, just way darker and way more evil. I assume, the original Star Trek is much more part of the manufactured counter culture of the 1960s, then I would like it to be. --- Looking forward to watching Best of the Worst.
