Everyone told me the same thing, but it honestly has a huge amount of really good episodes. It just doesn't have a lot of payoffs and has maybe 2-3 actually interesting characters that you legit care to see their story arc complete by the end of the show.
2019-04-01 18:54:21 +0000 UTCThat sounds cool but everyone has told me to just skip voyager. :(

2019-03-28 13:43:58 +0000 UTCthey talk about it in their re:view of Star Trek Discovery!

2019-03-27 14:51:40 +0000 UTCWhen are you doing a review of the orville?? How much off the show is hacking Star Trek and were there some nice new creative ideas? I am really instered because I am not a Star Trek scholar as you guys. All the best for you, from Brasil!

2019-03-27 04:37:47 +0000 UTCThere’s an episode of Voyager called Course: Oblivion where the entire crew/ship are copied and don’t know they’re copies at first, but then set out to find the real ship.

2019-03-26 23:00:39 +0000 UTCCan't wait to hear which episodes of Star Trek it reminded Mike of.

2019-03-26 22:15:07 +0000 UTCI was hoping for this review to happen. yay! Jordan Peele is the next Filmmaker that actually dos his own movies. "Get Out" was a good movie and I enjoyed "Us" a lot so i am already waiting for whatever he films next. I wont blame him that some people say that maybe he explained a bit to much of what was going on. Its different, its okay. I saw an interview with him somewhere were he said he had offers but he rather would do his own thing than be approached by Marvel Studios n such and i can only applaud that especially since he seems to have positioned himself in a spot were he actually gets payed well for realizing his own ideas. The lead actress in this movie was super. Everyone was, but she especially did one hell of a job.

2019-03-26 18:15:16 +0000 UTCWill also predict that they liked some of the creepy visuals but ultimately it will fall flat for them like it did for me. Really liked the leading actress and the original screenplay - but it started to feel like an M. Night Shamananaalon movie.

2019-03-26 13:16:09 +0000 UTCI hope that they mention how jarring and bad that split focus shot was at the end. Tip for cinematographers...don't do that.
Michael Tuthill
2019-03-26 13:14:27 +0000 UTCBut I believed it all and was along for the ride until the end. Unlike Get Out, which most of y'all seem to like more. It was only after seeing it, that I noticed a quick spoiler in trailer #1.

2019-03-26 12:56:15 +0000 UTCI really liked it. Very impressed, and nothing clunked for me except the long time it took zombie whitemalefriend to get to the boat.

2019-03-26 12:52:00 +0000 UTCI read it as: "Just shot us discuss Us. Now watch us edit." Thought I was having a stroke.
2019-03-26 12:34:26 +0000 UTCI usually trust the opinions of only two critics on youtube: Mark Kermode from BBC (awesome guy, also very competent and not snob at all) and RLM. Then I reverse this process watching the reviews of people I don't find very good at it and take notes on movies they didn't like (often for the most stupid, nit picky reasons) knowing I'll probably love them instead. Well, yourmoviesucks had mixed feelings about this one, so it will definitely be good.

2019-03-26 12:13:08 +0000 UTCSpeaking of editing: I wanted to learn something, so I've edited out all parts with Jacob from the Elsie scenes in Gorilla Interrupted, except for one, where you hear the dialogue while Jacob is crawling up the stairs. I have found out, that as awful as Garrett's performances mostly are, you need him in all those scenes to keep up the flow. I mean, you need to show his story of course, but for this experiment, I have isolated the Elsie scenes from the rest of the movie. The irony is that without him, the scenes would work less - even though the Elsie scenes belong to the best scenes in the whole movie. As far as I can tell, Jay has done a hell of a job editing this movie together!

2019-03-26 07:38:53 +0000 UTCI was with the movie in general until the last 15 mins, when it started to over-explain everything to such a degree that I actually got confused. Not as solid or tight as Get Out, but still very much worth watching for the aesthetics and performances - more Peele, please!

2019-03-26 06:53:26 +0000 UTCPlease include slow zoom ins on rich laughing. That is all...
2019-03-26 05:31:39 +0000 UTCThis movie was ready to surpass get out for me until the last 20 minutes or so and it just flopped. There was like 5 good ways to end that movie and they didn't go with any of them. Still though Jordan Peele's direction is fucking fantastic imo and this still makes me excited to see the next things he makes even if this one wasn't quite Get Out level

2019-03-26 05:28:39 +0000 UTCThe only thing I am hoping for out of this is a skit with Mr. Plinkett and a Mr. Plinkett doppelganger.
2019-03-26 05:13:38 +0000 UTCI knew right from the trailer that "Us" while maybe "Good" it won't come close to Get Out

2019-03-26 03:51:45 +0000 UTCI wanted to like this movie more than I did. It's got some really good things about it, and I'd still recommend it, but I don't think it quite made it into "great" territory for me.

2019-03-26 03:46:59 +0000 UTCCan you one day tell us how long yout video pieces take to plan, prop, shoot and edit?

2019-03-26 03:29:09 +0000 UTCI love watching these reviews because you have spoilers. I never go to these kind of movies so I can act like I've seen the movie when people ask me about it

2019-03-26 02:46:56 +0000 UTCI just got back from this and Captain Marvel and I enjoyed both. I think Get Out was a more solid entry but this was certainly enjoyable. I don't think we can call it a sophomore slump.

2019-03-26 02:20:42 +0000 UTCExcellent. I know my feelings on the movie, but I'm really interested to hear yours.

2019-03-26 02:17:35 +0000 UTCThe first two acts were pretty solid. The third however completely fell apart for me. And the "twist" was straight out of a Shyamalan movie. Should have saved the idea for his Twilight Zone reboot.

2019-03-26 02:16:53 +0000 UTCMost likely.

2019-03-26 02:13:07 +0000 UTCBold predictions: Neither is gonna like it but Jay will appreciate some of the elements in it.
