WIP Day - Milk'n'Honey
Added 2024-12-08 09:20:34 +0000 UTCHere is a sneakpeak into whats coming, first time we fire a gun on set. Going to be great, the progress is fantastic, much of the technical stuff was figured out during the Troll Tussle animation really, so it was a matter of small tweaks to make it fit here.
Watching Rambo when growing up put the m60 "The Pig" in a special place in my heart, so here it is brought to life once again. Special thanks to Vickers Tactical https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aekduZbQWk for the slow-mo video to better understand the m60s physics.
Back in the scene, I followed a great smoke tutorial on YT to make the gunbarrel smoke for the first animation.

Also have some sexy pictures of the M60 I took in a seperate scene to make sure it was ready to join Njorijanna.
Then comes some stuff Braatwaathe is working on in the impact and effects department!
The spent cartridges got somewhat out of hand to times, in the start, they seemed to pick up speed, being thrown further and harder, but I figured that one out. Also tested different ejector speeds, almost simulating a minigun in the end .
Here you can also get an insight into how complex the m60 rig ended up being, bones for all loose parts. Also for the smoke sim, you can see I had to add a collision box for it to collide with, so the smoke would not just pass through the metal, that would be unacceptable right? yeah, so such crucial parts like clipping are taken care of, dont want anything looking UNREALISTIC do we?
