🔋 OP12 Weekly Power Rankings - Preview🏴‍☠️

📊Access the Full Stats Dashboard: https://stats.tcgmatchmaking.com/

Bonus: Early OP12 Preview
As a bonus this week, we're including a very early look at how OP12 is shaping up on the ladder. Please note: this data comes from general ladder stats, not filtered by 1B+ ranking, as there simply isn’t enough high-rank data available yet to give a clear competitive picture.

This preview is meant to offer a fun first glance rather than a definitive tier list. We’re not diving too deep just yet — with major changes still looming (including a potential ban list announcement in the coming weeks), we fully expect things to shift rapidly. That said, it’s always exciting to see what players are testing and what decks are starting to make waves early on.

Take it for what it’s worth — and let’s enjoy the start of OP12 together!

How Our Rankings Are Calculated

Our list isn’t simply based on winrate — it’s shaped by a layered evaluation:

  • Matchup Strength: We give more weight to wins over top-tier decks, rather than fringe matchups, using a logarithmic scale to highlight true format impact.

  • Popularity: Beating decks that show up consistently is more meaningful than wins over rarely played leaders.

  • Contextual Winrate: Raw winrate is factored in alongside matchup quality. A deck that wins often but struggles vs. the meta's top threats won’t place as highly.

This gives us a realistic view of how each deck stacks up when it matters most.

Meta Preview

Blue/Purple Luffy is clearly one of the top decks right now. It’s not just riding momentum from last set—though that definitely helps. A lot of players already know the deck inside and out, so it makes sense that they’re sticking with it. That said, there’s already some talk going around about whether it’s too strong this format. Some are even predicting that it could be the next deck to get hit with a ban or restriction. Whether or not that happens, it’s definitely a major player in this early meta.

Right behind it is Green Zoro, which has been one of the most hyped leaders coming into OP12—and so far, it’s living up to expectations. Being a five-life leader is a huge plus in general, and Zoro also has the tools to play a solid midrange or tempo game. It has answers, aggression, and good matchups across the board, which makes it a safe and strong pick in almost any setting.

Red Rayleigh is another OP12 newcomer that’s already finding success. Like Zoro, it starts with five life, but the playstyle is pretty different. Rayleigh seems to reward creative play and careful decision-making, and it's been doing well against a lot of the expected meta decks. It’s still early, but it looks like this leader has the potential to stick around.

Then there’s Bonney, who’s still hanging in the top 10 as usual. It’s one of those decks that always seems to adapt, no matter the format. With the release of the five-cost Bonney and new cards like Mihawk, the deck has gained a few more ways to control the board and stay relevant. It might not be as flashy as some of the new stuff, but it’s solid, consistent, and still a threat.

We’re also starting to see a couple of yellow decks creep up—specifically Enel and Yellow Kid. These have always had a tendency to do well early in a format when people are still figuring things out. Enel especially is one of those decks that can punish mistakes, even against tougher matchups. Whether they’ll still be around in a few weeks is hard to say, but for now, they’re definitely worth paying attention to.

One of the bigger surprises is how far Belo Betty has dropped. Just last set, Betty was considered one of the best decks in the game, often in the top two. Now, it's barely hanging on to a top-10 spot. It’s not that the deck suddenly became bad, but the tools added in OP12 don’t seem to help her keep up with the new pace of the meta. Unless something changes, Betty might be on her way out of top-tier status.

Lastly, a few returning leaders are still doing well—Blackbeard, Green/Purple Luffy, and Red/Green Smoker are all sticking around. These decks haven’t changed much, but they don’t really need to. They’re reliable, have good matchups across the board, and are strong options for anyone who prefers sticking with something proven.

Overall, OP12 has started off strong. We’ve got a nice mix of established decks and new contenders, and it feels like the format still has a lot of room to grow. The next few weeks will really show which strategies can go the distance.
