A Storm's Lullaby Page 108

This story is loosely based on the Japanese book and cartoon titled “Ringing Bell” [Chirin no Suzu] about the little lamb who, after seeing his mother being killed by a wolf, becomes his apprentice in order to get strong.

Thank you, Karol! ^^ I love rendering this kind of hygge-like enviroment, with fireplace and wooden interiors steeped in the soft darkness. Altough I need to remember not to overuse it, so the next day settings need to change :)

Well that was a bad choice, Fiz.

Is it confusing? He wants to learn from the wolf to avenge his Mother and in the process slowly becames a monster himself. A sort of anti-hero story. I think we can safely assume that horns are not only unrealistic thing about this ;-)

Tempest is trying really hard. I would call this an accident more than a mis-step. She really looks like she is giving it her all: Really putting her heart into it, in panel 5. She really seems to have come a long way, and is doing much better than before. And most importantly, she seems to understand the 2 most important rules to parenting: 1) Show up 2) Try. Put in some effort and Try. Minor oopsie on the choice in story. But you can tell Tempest was really trying to do the right thing here, even if she was a bit slow to realize that the story may not be the most appropriate for Lullaby. Also, Lullaby's expression in panel 4 is priceless. I think this one came out really well. The artwork especially. The shadows and glow really do accentuate the scenes perfectly. dSana has become truly phenomenal at these dark, illuminated by the glow of a fire kind of environments. The level of detail truly does give life to the art.

That Chirin story had a few confusing parts, at first the lamb hunts the wolf to kill him & avenge his mom, then he asks the wolf to train him to be tough & then sees the wolf as a father. The second thing is what Chirin turns into when he’s an adult, I think he a ram, but rams don’t have horns like that, actually no animal that exists has horns like that.

on the other hand, the choice of story necessarily has to speak to him with the orphan character who becomes strong. so she had to take this book there is not another.

Lux The Pegasus

it vaguely reminds me of Bambi but I'm curious to know what Tempest asked Thistle because she could have advised something a little more denial

Now I've done it.

There are and that was one unlucky choice!

And this is why parental warnings were invented. Poor Lullaby. :( Hopefully there are more cheerful books in Thistle's possession.
