Indeed! Tempest could finally apply what she has learnt from Thistle as well as her own life experience. And by choosing to do so, instead of just yelling and staying angry, she is showing her potential to grow as a person.

I dare say Tempest is getting smarter. She handled it correctly this time. She said what needed to be said, and followed up with a much needed hug. She managed to: - make this a teachable moment - maintain composure and not overreact - address Lullaby's concerns and reassure her Tempest is learning fast. Tempest detests lies and pursues the truth. Perhaps it is because of this, that she was able to truly hear the truth in Thistle's words about how she should handle Lullaby. Such progress.

Ah, OK, then! Glad to know they will have a chat. I'm looking forward to seeing that :)

As I mention to James, the logic is following.: you need to take a look at her behaviour and what she said from the very beggining. There's covering her head expecting a hit, hiding under blanket, angry outbursts, doesn't know her age or BD, untreated wing injury that prevents her from flying, casual mentions of being disliked for her eyes and being a pegasi; not owning much, having nightmares, bedwetting, admitting at being hit for it, saying the time she spent with Tempest was the best one she ever had despite being hurt.

Oh, they won't play a significant role, but there will be a kind of resolve betwen them and Tempest, worry not :] As for the sequel...nothing is impossible ^^

Hmmm, you know, I never thought of Lulu's entire behavior that way, but now that you listed all those things, it makes perfect sense. Still, it would be nice to see some interactions between Tempest and them (a legal battle, perhaps)... Maybe in the sequel :) ?

Maybe I teach her family some lessons on good parenting and Lulu and I will still be close. Abusive or not, I wonder if I'll encounter them. As any filly or colt could run away over something not as harsh in reality. Not all families are perfect as well, but some can be pretty awful, especially if it's a physical difference such as Lulu's eyes. Families may poke fun as a normality and there are families that take it to the extreme. Also first panel I look really cute. Of course.

Before I answer that I want to add that Tempest has already decided to destroy this family based on what she has seen that night, therefore this decision is natural conclusion of this logic. Whether this is right or wrong is another matter, of course. As for proof...She flinches when someone is angry, covering her head (that scene you mentioned was one of a few); she causally talks about being disliked for her eyes and being a pegasi, she has untreated wing injury and is not flying, she suffers from nightmares, she confirms her aunt hits her for bedwetting; she has angry outbursts that are mark of a trauma, she hides under the blanket, doesn't know her age or BD, she mentiones that she never owned much and finally tells Tempest that the time she spend with her was best she had in life, despite being badly hurt. Thistle too has made it clear that Lulu's behaviour suggests neglect, which helped to shape Tempest mind.

OK, but... what kind of proof of them being abusive Tempest have? Do you mean the scene when Lulu wet herself and put her hooves up, expecting a beating?

They will not play a significant role, no. Is it really hard to imagine such situation? She knows her family is abusive not because she was told, but because she had seen the proof of it; and right now she had to choose between providing Lu much needed stability or delaying this for Celestia knows how long. As for the law, hence her last comment -- who will challange Tempest Shadow?

Hmm, interesting. May I ask whether Lulu's family will play any significant role in the comic? It's hard to imagine a situation in which Tempest simply decides to keep the filly knowing she has a family. No matter how we slice it, by law, that's kidnapping (or foalnapping).

So, the truth about Lulu is known, is it the time for Thistle to explain herself in the following story?

Aww! I love how understanding Tempest was and it's good that Lulu finally got that off her chest. Though if Thistle heard them talking, what Tempest said about lies hit close to home. I wonder how long it'll be before she reveals her own secret to Tempest (and will she beg to be punished too 😉)
