It seems that Tempest's fire was extinguished by Rusty's icy-blade of harsh candor. He knew exactly what to say. She subjected him to the same trauma he experienced as colt. But he has a mechanism for handling it now. The same as he did back then: growing cold. He is the ice to Tempest's fire. What an interesting combination. The commander, and the beaten-but-undefeated soldier.
