I wanted to create a villan that would feel like a real threat - but because Tempest is so obviously overpowered, it was very difficult task. So I made Rusty not powerful, but unsettling and unpredictable instead. A pony who has his own logic and sometimes ever correct motivations, but as a sociopath, he is unable to feel empathy and understand the pain he is causing. His backstory will be probably explored a little bit later.

The more I read his lines and see his action, the more I think that Rust Wing is not a psycho we took him for. He acts more like one of the fundamentalist people with an attitude like: 'death for death'/'revenge for honor'/'spare the rod and spoil the child' and other crap like that. It would be interesting to have him redeem himself in the end, but I doubt it...

Where did you get the idea for Rusty? Is he completely made up? Or did you draw from someone you had met in real life? He seems a bit cold. The kind of pony that gives you that chill.
