Batman - Gotham by Gaslight

So, here is...

... my intepretation of the Gotham by Gaslight Batman! I ran into some issues printing, so had to make some tweaks and changes, but it's finally here.

There's honestly not a whole lot to say about it. As many of you have probably figured out over the years I am mainly in the DC Comics camp (while I do enjoy dipping my toe into the Marvel well as well), and Batman holding the #1 slot as my favourite hero, and probably has since the 1989 movie. The Gotham by Gaslight version is an interesting interpretation of the character with the ability to do something a little bit different.

This guy has two Variants, as pictured below. V2 has a "tighter" cut so it can be printed larger, and on FDM it shouldn't require any supports as all:

7z files

A quick note about 7z. I'm now packing files using the 7z format because the files are getting pretty big with all these versions of pre-supported files. It's nothing new, and many other creators use this file format just because it compresses files so well and saves space, and bandwidth downloading them. You can unpack it with most packing/unpacking software such as WinRAR and of course the official tool, 7-zip, and there's lots of helpful info you can find with a quick google on the subject :)

Printing instructions - resin

Pre-supporting files is a royal pain in the ass! Especially when there's so many versions. I certainly hope it's of use to some of you out there ๐Ÿ˜… I have included Lychee slicer (the best slicer, right?) Lite files, as well as pre-supported STL files. As in the previous release it comes in SMALL (e.g. Elegoo Mars) and MEDIUM (e.g. Elego Saturn, Anycubic Mono X) formats. Larger printers are still uncommon enough that it's not really worth the time it takes to presupport the files for such a small userbase, so (for the time being) you will have do those yourselves!

Again, I have made sure the Lychee files are easily editable with supports tagged for the various uses (perimeter, internals, middle (which I probably should rename "bottom", etc), so  if you do find my supports a bit crappy you might not have to start from scratch and can edit them instead.

FDM instructions

For Variant 1 you will have to add supports around the entire model to support the cape (as depicted in the image below). In hindsight maybe I shouldn't have designed it that way, but it is what it is! So if you have an aversion against supports I recommend Variant 2, which should require no supports!

In conclusion

Happy printing :)
