From the textless and background-less WIP of the first image in this series, I wondered what had made her go from smug to kinda-smug-but-visibly-put-off. Is Rookie telling her he won't screw her? Is Vanessa having a word with her and asking why her work quality is suddenly not only so much better, but more importantly, it looks like someone else did it? But nope. If this is the last we see of Mandy, at least for now, I'll say this about her: The story may not be super deep, but I like Mandy as a villain. Vanessa did it first and better, but Mandy's quite an office hottie herself. I even have a certain fondness for bitchy/bad women in controlled doses. Sadly, she had to go from bitch to evil, and basically being an attempted rapist (her weapon may not have been physical, but forcing him was the point and she said herself a couple panels ago that she specifically wanted to hurt Vanessa with it even if he complied)...yeah, not here. The meme goes that people like monster girls because their monster is on the outside while she's shown enough of her inner self to be the exception, and that monster isn't sexy. Especially since, partially from some of her own dialogue , I can't help but get this sinking feeling in my gut that this wouldn't have been her first offense.

The sheer catharsis alone was well worth the near month long wait for it. I couldn't have said what Rookie said better myself. A thoroughly loathsome Pokemon indeed. A shame he resigned, I wish she didn't get that small petty victory over him, but at least everything else failed. Now... let's see how he faces Vanny after all of this <3 I can't wait to see her again after all this time.
