Fortnightly Progress - 13th April

Wishing you a happy Chaos Dwarf day for those that observe, and may Hashut's grim tidings pass you by.

Dang for April 1st I so should have done a post to announce that from now on in the encampment you'll have overseers and labourers. Instead I dug out an old amusing amv I did several years back for the day, and posted that to the twitter. 

• No Haven

Decided to take some time off this week from all the planning out and writing stage I still need to do. Oh boy, that's been a lot.

Instead I've been doing some actual work in RAGS rather than messing around in documents. Mix of bug fixing as I've had quite a few reports in the last two weeks so thanks to everyone who has contributed those. In the past I've tended to leave all the bug fixing until very last thing before finishing, and that's so not leaving the most fun or interesting thing until last. Quite the opposit in fact.

Other thing was I've been doing some quick quality of life improvements which have been inspired by gameplay stories on the discord. One I just finished was a mechanic to make Rare Assignment generation more varied so in the space of three months you'll be less likely to see the same ones repeatedly. Still be possible, just less likely than now, and there's also a list of some Assignments that aren't included for this.

• The No Haven Conversion / Picarto Streams

You'll be happy to hear this is going to much less of an emotional journey this time.

I got done pretty much all the planned streams in the last two weeks, including the bonus sunday ones, and only missed last Thursday's as I was so exhausted that night I was asleep when it would have started. 

Not entirely unemotional as man there was such a frustrating bug to do with showing Assignment art. Made even more so while I did solve it, the way I did it was so, so, soooo dumb. Genuinely annoyed me it was that dumb. No reason I can see why the original method didn't work, and this one does, but yay it is fixed and that's what matters.

Managed to get an Assignment to confirm so that's a solid bit of progress. I've also changed how I had the user interface working. Before the selection for Assignments was below the text so you'd have to scroll up to see the Traits/Suggested. Instead now it replaces the list of those in the encampment on the right so it's more reminicent of how it looked in RAGS,

• Commissions

January+February - They Choose You : The inks are done, apparently, yay progress.

July+August - Dominance Training : First stage is finished at last so that's lovely. If you want to see it check out WeakJ's twitter. I also posted the link on the discord too for those who are on that. I'll be holding off with it as there's a second stage for the Advanced version and they're currently working on a refined sketch. 

September+October - The Shorty Set (Kobold) : Really pleased with how this is going. Definitely been a complex one so really appreciate the artist for putting up with me as we've been working together to get something we're both happy with. Likely the most amount of back-and-forth needed since that lamia riding a chariot one.

November - Lich  : Final sketch is now done, and it's moving onto the next stage.

Up to Feb -  Kreen Caravan Raid Aftermath : It got finished since the last one of these. Really pleased with how it turned out as it was a new artist, and I'm sure you'll see more of their work here in future.

Up to Feb - Wind Swept : At last managed to get someone to say yes to this one. It's fully confirmed and I should be seeing the first sketch tomorrow.

Up to Feb - Banshee : Artist is confirmed and they're planning to start this in the last week of April.

Up to Feb - Unattended : It got finished since the last one of these. Yet another massive success from Starli.

Up to Feb - Disbanded! : Oops, forgot to post about this one last time. Artist is confirmed and it's starting May or June is the plan. 

March - Grim Anywhere  : Artist is confirmed. They are working on another piece for me. So this one is going to get started after that one.

Question now is which of these is going to be commission 99 and which is going to be the big 100. Who knows, maybe it might just be something special for such a number...

The March+April Commission Poll has been up for over a week and this is how it's going:

Barbarous Bargains has maintained it's stranglehold on the number one spot. Has been one change since the last time I looked where the Brief Foray+Taggerfolk alliance have crept up into 3rd but that's about it. That's got another two weeks to see if there will be any more movement in the voting.
