Fortnightly Progress - 4th April

No Haven

Well I thought that 0.86 would be a pretty minor quick update, but that really hasn't been how things have worked out. Which I do think is for the better as I'm not sure just having the slave release assignment and head slave role would really have been enough.

The starting bonus rework is getting impressively expansive. Due to this there will be now starts for all race/gender variations of Fallen, and male Demi-Angels. For now using existing portraits as placeholders until I can work out a way to get so many variations done. There will also be new regular starting options for Oozes outside of the existing promoted slaver one which will include a patron start.

From the original draft that the discord saw now pretty much every race and sub-type has the full set of five favoured and four unfavoured traits/regions/assignments/races. Near every single trait now has at least one race who either boosts or debuffs it. In fact the only ones missing now are Defiant (Def) which is a slave only trait, Faith: The Blinded Lady (F:Bl) which I've always planned to be a highly disruptive trait, not available to the player, and not one that would likely to be more or less favoured by any one specific race, Faith: The Laughing Trickster (F:Tr) who I'm planning to save for a later race that will be introduced later, Innocent (Inn) for obvious reasons, and Mind Reader (Min) which due to potentially breaking many things I have planned will never be a trait that I'm letting the player have.

As for the progress all of the working out has now been done, and I'm making decent headway on the implementation.

Commissions

Very happy that at last I don't need to talk about the Drider for Scout the City what with it now being done!

Wrapped in Webs is also now done ready for the next update making it a Drider two-fer. Personally I think this might be my favourite one since the Ogre for Scout the Deep Mountains.

I've also had a new bonus commission done to at last give the trolls of No Haven a properly distinctive design. Really happy that several people have said how much they dig the new look. MidnightonMars did a great job, and is a wonderful artist to work through and implement new ideas with. They also will be doing a companion piece for the Abyss Trolls which just might also include another race who has been unfortunate enough to fall into their clutches.

Please don't expect this number of bonus commissions to keep coming like recently. There may be some more still to come, but it is getting pretty pricey doing all these ones outside of the regular schedule :D

Speaking of the regular schedule the new poll will be up in the next few days for you to vote on the March-April one(s).

The alt month one for March with the High Elf is making great progress. The new artist is doing great stuff already, and if the current draft is any kind of indicator then this is going to be fantastic.

All of these will be at the usual time of 22:30 BST (got to remember to update that on the tumblr posts!) outside of the odd occasional one where I need to catch up and so start an hour earlier. I've also being doing the odd Monday instead of Thursday one as circumstances have demanded.
